you're lucky you got to record! i used to live in los angeles and go on this constantly at disneyland, so naturally, the last time i went on before i was moving i wanted to record the whole thing. they stopped the ride to announce there was no recording. i still got it all, but it didn't come out quite as good.

@dollzilla it's both actually. The Haunted Mansion generally closes early in September and re-opens about 3 weeks later as Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare. then closes again in January to change back to Haunted Mansion. the sanme thing also happens to the Mansiobn at Disneyland in California.

Yeah I would hope that they bring it over here again! I missed when they did it in Florida here in the U.S! :( I saw it on TV and thought " I WANT TO RIDE THAT.". Actually, I have been wanting a ride done for my favorite Disney movie, and didn't know it had been done until then.

Nightmare isn't just a ride, it's an overlay that takes place from September thru January at TKDL and DL. During the other months it's the Haunted Mansion.

No if you go in July, it'll be open as the original Haunted Mansion, it closes to install Nightmare in August, reopens in the middle of September and closes again in the middle of January.

I went to Tokyo Disneyland just for this ride as well this year! It was absolutely AWESOME! But when I got there they refused to let me take pictures of the inside of the ride :( I did take some sneaky ones, but they were crap...

it was actually really good and they replaced the whole haunted mansion just for a few months just cuz the Nightmare Before X-mas 3D came out. . .as dollzilla says, the thing you sit in moves and blurs it with the camera and it's not such good quality mostly cuz it's dark in there.

I went on this too back in November! I was so thrilled, though Space Mountain was down for a refurb when I went. But this made up for it! We rode it 3 times! They can totally pull this off in WDW. Actually, WDW's Mansion is down for a refurb and when it is reopened it will be made capable to transform. An other thing we didn't realize before our trip, just how popular Nightmare Before Christmas is!

Wow, that's cool! I didn't know they made the ride of the nightmare before christmas, too bad that's in tokyo. But I have a question, do they have this ride in Walt disney world in Florida?

This ride is actually like a Christmas version of 'The Haunted Mansion,' which is a ride at Magic Kingdom. Honestly, the only differences I see are the car you ride in, and the fact that it has a TNBC theme.

Like Moosenogger said, it's a TNBC version of Haunted Mansion. It isn't possible to do it for the Disney World Haunted Mansion though. Most of the Disneylands are visited by locals who can come back if Haunted Mansion is down for the Nightmare Before Christmas change. Disney World is visited by more non-locals, and if Haunted Mansion is down, they might never get to see it.

this Nightmare before christmas version only happens from october-december...the normal Haunted Mansion version is identical to the one in WDW. I went on a WDW tour and they told me they would never do it like Tokyo and CA because they would have to change the entire speaker system. So you could go to CA to see this too =P
