  • 3:27 (breaks his neck) OMG is the guitar okay??!!

  • Kurt Cobain is and will always be a legend

and you missed Kurt's greatest solo (with teen spirit) sappy

  • jeez he messes up so bad several times

  • I forgot about that serve the serveants solo... awesome.

  • good or bad? is that a serious question?? ummm they are GREAT

  • Kurt is pissed about this video.

  • i didn't know kurt can play as fast as he plays in school...

  • @DaAzisum lol you said fast, thats funny

  • @somedoodudontno ...??? I said I didn't know that Kurt can play even that fast

  • @DaAzisum ouch, hes got that bad of a rep w/ guitar eh?

  • not good or bad, fucking amazing!

  • great job :)

  • goooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddddd lol

  • simon la de sappy esta vergisima!!!!

  • HEY DUDE!!!

    Where is Sappy's Solo?????????

  • best guitarist for me- Buckethead;

best song writer and singer- Kurt.

  • chingon pero se te olvido el solo de sappy

  • love da serve the servants solo

  • aero zepplin is by far the most underrated Nirvana song..and the solo is amazing RIP

  • the best.

  • simple but great solos !! =D

  • easy but amazing solos, kobain was so amazing..

  • 2:38, where the fuck do you find the Elvis nirvana poster!

That looks to be an original, someone probably kept it and it's in a box somewhere forgot about!

  • his solos are simple but amazing

  • kurt wasent a great guitariste but at the same time he was amazingg, the things he comes up with are amazing, its hard to explain. like aero zeppelin for example

  • i am in the middle some sounded goods others not so good...

  • good

  • love the about a girl solo

  • If you think a lot, Kurt's solos were very easy perhaps they sounded fucking awesome. He's style was not making hard solos, but catchy ones that lead to your heart.

  • Ya his solo's were based on the song to make it all fit as one he didn't try to make the hardest playing solo cause just cause its really hard to play don't make it the best.

  • btw, skimastamaggot, this was an interesting idea because it's a topic about cobain that many talk about. it's odd he was a legend and yet wasn't very skilled at guitar. good topic to touch on, hats off to you my friend.

  • I think his solos fit the style of his band. His style was a little bit on the melodic side but at times had kind of an artsy feel to them. He was not a great guitarist, he was a writer that was skilled in writing catchy songs; songs that make you think, "why didn't i think of that first?" but heres the thing; you didnt, he did. I think his solos fit his songs best; imagine a Page solo in a Nirvana song; it wouldn't quite sound right, 2 different styles. listen to pixies or beatles to understand.

  • @monotonelifestyle thats it, he wasn't a great guitarist, so why da hell is he in the top 5 of the rolling stones list of 100 best guitarists of all time? is the list bout skill or melody? becausi if its melody it's not ok that santana is only short under 20 and if its bout skill kurt shoulb be more behind

yes my english is bad im from austria

    kepp rockin'

  • @AIienschnitzler rolling stone is but another opinion. I dont' really let media's lists of anything represent what is fact. Deciding who the greatest guitarists of all time are is kinda ridiculous. there is always someone better. rock isn't about skill, it's about artful sound. Billy Corgan has a voice that is terrible. however, the way he uses it rocks! in fact, any other singer would suck in his band. no list will show him as a great vocalist but has done what no one else can do with it

  • Good or bad? Why ask other people? Make up your own mind. It's not a factual matter, it's subjective like all art. I for one love his style because it wasn't according to the so called "rules" of how you should proof to be a good guitarplayer. He was real because he didn't bother living up to a standard determined by slick "guitar heroes". He came from the heart and presented what felt right to him. That's the trademark of a genuine artist.

  • funally someone who's got it right.

  • Nice to know someone else feels the same way too :)

(Kurt Cobain)

  • Kurt usually uses the vocal melody for his solos, but I love it when he goes for it on in bloom, Moist Vagina, Serve The Servants, Aero zeppelin, and Sappy. He's no Slash, but Slash considers him one of the greatest song writers ever, so I think that says a lot.

  • well how can you not love kurt he has the personality of a child and the brain of einstein.

  • theyre easy but sound great

  • stain, school, aero zeppelin, come as you are. in bloom, los mejores!

  • how did this stuff got to be at #12 all time guitarists?! whene guys like angus young wich is at #96 and van halen that is at #70 fall behind???this is super overrated just cause he had an amazing voice doesnt meen he was a great guitarist...and the fact that he killed himself just gives him some eadge....stupid rolling stones magazine

  • you dont have to play fast to be a good guitarist, he was ranked so high because a lot of people thought his riffs were genuis, even though they were not, they just sound good

  • hey dont get me wrong i dont fill those super fast shreders are the best guitarists in the world but i just dont think his that good of a player.....anyway his voice covers every thing thats stupid about him so i guess its ok......

  • buen trabajo - good job

  • fucking amazing solos, like people have said, i agree that they are riffs, but what great imagination

  • kurt is the greatest of alll time i no hes no slash, mick t or buckethead but hes got style and he always plays great music

  • Kurt Cobain never solos. Just plays riffs. My three year old cousin can do that. What a chode.

  • your mom's a chode.

  • are u listening to the same video as me? cuz this all solos.

  • puzzate tutti by italia

  • hey you forgot the Sappy solo

  • ******************Kurt Cobain****************

  • good

  • Kurt was a good guitarist but not for playing difficult things or solos but for his music and he couldn't do tricky solos because it is hard to play and be the lead singer at the time. But for me he's a good guitarist.

  • could have summed it up in shorter words but yea i think he's good

  • Kurt's not a guitarist, you people need to understand that. He was a musician, his guitar wasn't meant to wow anyone, just to keep the song going. I've seen videos of Kurt playing some good solos, but that's just it. They were guitar only, actually a solo, and those had nothing to do with his genre, he just let the chords flow. By the way, grunge is called "The People's Music" for a reason dipshits. It's supposed to be easy.

  • All grunge-music isn't easy, OR easy to understand, for example Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

  • I never said easy to understand. Plus, while grunge is easy to play, even the bands you brought up, it's hard to truly "play", you know? I can play Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, but no one will ever truly play their songs like they did. No one has the soul. Overview: Technical Grunge Guitar is easy, but true grunge takes skill.

  • the solos of school, blew, aerozeppelin and heart-shaped box are so fucking awsome!!

    good list

  • did you guys know that kurt was a big AC/DC fan ? :)

  • All of the solos here are very good especially BLEW and IN BLOOM

  • Kurt is a very underated guitarist.

  • he is a great guitarist...in grunge it isnt about face melting riffs he is also the lead singer cant make evrythin to complicated thats why the solos stand out more, it is also hard to match the vocal pattern unless ur a good guitarist

  • this guy is one of the most overrated guitarists of all time

  • yeah, and kirk hammetts number 11...

  • well he's ALOT better than Kurt Cobain

    still its a bullshit list

  • what idiot would put cobain 1 behind Hammett?

cobian shouldnt even be on that list

  • of course the list is shit, it's a Rolling Stones list.

  • He wasn't the best guitarist ever, but his riffs and the feeling of melody were the best ever. He put a natural feeling in his music and that was the key to be never forgotten, if you say he was a shitty musician or guitarist oh well, do some songs and make them popular or sound like Kurt's ones. Kurt is the man cause his music is a great influence for many people/musicians. His private life shouldn't interest us at all.

R.I.P Cobain and kurwa!!! big respect for that you have done.

  • good :)

  • good

  • my person favorite solo is school, then smells like teen spirit. and yeah kurt is excellent at guitar it just doesnt show in his song writing alot. but watch his live stuff. im not gonna get into it right now but he was the master of feedback.

  • there it goes....

someone who knows how well he play....

  • good

  • The thing that makes Kurt such a great guitarist is that...he took what he knew, mostly just bar and power chords, and made the most kickass band ever, so what if they didint have solos that went 1000000/mph THEY WERE RAW and thats what makes them great :D

    btw love his solo's

  • its all grunge, improvised solos, dirty solos

they arent technical, they re GRUNGE!

    and cool :)

  • blew is one of nirvana's most underrated solos

  • Pennyroyal Tea kicks ass

  • most of their solo's are pretty good. a lot of them where half assed though like smells like teen spirit or come as you are still love nirvana bracing for a rude reply

  • isn't that the point in the whole 'grunge' thing though- half assing it i mean. i totally agree with what you said

  • very god

  • nirvana is awesome

  • Shredders from the 80's completely missed the point of string attack, all in all they were playing so fast that they merely tickled the strings. That's why I prefer guys like Kurt Cobain and Mike McCready, because they they actually played with power rather than speed and attacked their guitars.

  • Serve the Servants, for example, live, is completely different. Only a couple of them are similar, some notes, here and there.

The thing about Kurt is that he played with his heart. He wasn't paying attention to the freaking solo, he was doing what his heart told him to do! He knew how the notes would sound, and just played through them. You people don't know a thing about Kurt, he wasn't into playing sleasy solos like November Rain, or Don't Cry. He wanted to give his heart, and soul!

  • cobain is good man but slash also plays with passion they're just diferent styles

  • Actually, the major part of them are improvisation xD

  • Nirvana Rules!!

  • school has a kickass solo

  • I love the solo of In Bloom. Just listen to it and you'll know why.

  • blew is the shit

  • I like the first picture. I don't know why, but it's always fun to play guitar in weird positions.

  • SAPPY AND LOVE BUZZ SOLO ARE MY FAVRET

  • love buzz guitar solo is mind blowing if you listen

  • Kurt has his own style thats why he was so good and there just badass riffs and its grungy and rough

  • can somebody pleae list he song name in order of solo , please it wud be a great help for me

  • Kurt Cobain's solos are weird, because he's trying to play what he sings about four times. But it's good for Nirvana!

  • ya...its true, he even admitted that in an interview

  • the reason cobain was an incredible guitarist wasn't because he could play an amazing solo, it was because all of his riffs were perfect for his songs. he never really tried to go all out and play wildly, he kept it simple.

  • and the pennyroyal solo is wicked as hell live

  • hell no dude have you heard his solos they fit the song so perfectly they arent the best in the world but come on lp they have never done a guitar solo in their lives i personally think he had the best solos in the world i like the in bloom soloit sounds so wicked

  • awesome

  • awesome

  • good

  • good

  • I'm guessing this is an album only video? You're missing some good ones, like the live Rape Me and Pennyroyal Tea solos from 1991 along with a few songs like Sappy and Token Eastern Song.

  • good. Curts solos were never about going crazy, so simple yet effective. I love the way he really digs the pick into the strngs to get that crunchy kind of sound in his solos

  • Amen!
