  • an absolute drug fucked junkie ,so sad

  • GOOD. ON. YA. MATE ALL THE. BEST

  • A GREAT man!! An absolute ICON for Australian music pioneers. Yes....his life never really worked out for him but...he will always be remembered for the impact he had...and has...to the music industry. I wish him all the best!

  • What a bloody shamee...had a few beers with him in Albury way back in '64 or '65

and he was a great bloke.....I hate drugs so much

  • The difference 1966 - 2008 . Sad, sad, sad !

  • sad he ended up this dribbling mess- Good on him but, an icon

  • I absolutely ADORE Stevie Wright. He is the best man to have fronted a band in any country, any era in the history of rock. In the 60s he was a unique combination of a cheeky Robbie Williams and a sexy Mick Jaggar in one, way ahead of his time. What an amazing career this man has had. So proud that he is "ours", so proud that the Easybeats are "ours". Look at this man, in all he's been through he is still here, rocking on. I love you Stevie, you are the best <3

  • Ridiculo!!!!!Nem sombra do que foi na sua juventude...

  • Stevie is and always will be a legend.

Listen ,the guy was a fucking dude and hero in his day.

Now hes old,but fuck it,it happens to all of us.

Stevie made something massive of his life and will always be remembered with fondness and respect

  • @TheSwisslad I really enjoy his "Friday On My Mind" tune. Yeah, he is a far cry from what he used to look like when he was eighteen, singing that jolly ole tune. You're right..... aging happens to all of us. I'm glad to be a part of a generation that grew up with and listened to the most highest, talented performers. Right on Stevie Wright!

  • Grew up on the easy's. Also done my share of bad things over the years. Supported him once and was too awed to say hello. Poor guy, all the best.

  • forget cheesy pop songs & manufactured bands, I'm rearing my kids on this guy's music & talent

  • He was a cute wee bugger in his time.

  • Stevie Wright is a legend.

  • I saw The Easybeats reunion in 1986. Stevie was still energetic and dynamic then. This just breaks my heart.

  • who can believe the poor guy, he is so slurred in general.

  • is that dave hughes dad ?

  • I agree, he is 100% legend. I have 4 kids under 14 singing the easybeats songs. In today's climate of music, I think that's great.

  • What a waste. Such fantastic ability. Anyone who takes drugs, this is what happens.

  • @poltome What happens ? You live to be 62 ?

  • @gweijai If you say so. This bloke was a phenomenon, could have rivalled anyone vocally.

  • @poltome If I say so ? You said 'this' is what happens as result of drugs. I asked what you were referring to.

  • @gweijai You obviously don't know much about Stevie Wright. I was referring tro his speech, his constant licking his lip, his appearance.

  • @poltome I know quite a bit...like that he was cute and quick and bright eyed half a century ago, somewhat less of each now. Shocking isn't it.

  • @gweijai YARP! You would think that he would always look the same as he did back in the day. We all grow up / older. I love his musical talents. Generation of the 1960's / 1970s was second to none.

  • It's great to see Stevie still passionate about his craft! We all live a life, meaningfull or otherwise. Not many people can look back and honestly say they have enriched other peoples lives, Stevie Wright is such a person. To see Him perform in the early days with the band must have been great! Good luck Stevie, Stay safe and thank you for enriching our lives.....kevin in Perth.

  • I get very emotional (in a positive way) whenever I see Stevie or listen to Easybeats CDs. If I could only explain with words what their music has meant to me all these years! Let's just say that Stevie, his voice, his style and that awesome band are the only connection I have left of the best times of my life. Stevie you've always been like a big brother for me. Please hang in there!

  • Stevie was the best singer of his day. His rendition of River Deep Mountain High was unbelievable. I never get tired of listening to that.

  • 100% LEGEND! On ya Stevie

  • Sorry. Can't seem to get the link to post. But that early "Friday on My Mind" performance in France - iconic. I watch it over and over. Lol. Take care.

  • Stevie: Priceless.

  • Stevie:

  • Great to see the wonderful Stevie is doing well & still performing. My mom played the'Hard Road' LP constantly thru my teens, now I've got her original album in my collection. LOVE IT.

Good on you Stevie for kicking the drugs & alcohol. Your music still affects me.

  • I always liked Stevie and I screamed right along with all the girls in the audience..,of course I was at home here in the states.Stevie had the smile and the eyes that would melt a girls heart and he still does.Love you Stevie from a fan in the states.

  • Your'e a star Stevie, always have been and always will be the best ...

  • Good on you Fay, you tell them. Love you and Stevie heaps.

    See you soon

    Tony

  • @gumpymiller ....yeah---love yer stevie...best vocalist ever......i've lasted to 67.....similar story......tobacco hardest for me too.

  • PS: Paul Rodgers/Stevie Wright - one year apart, look 25 years apart. Take of yourself musicians! You don't have to get ----'ed up to be legit

  • Tap my heart

  • time 4 sleeping - what happened to stevie wright is not totally self inflicted. Stevie was a victim of psychiatrist Harry Bailey at Chelmsford Hospial.

  • @rospetal -well said & totally correct. Bailey was a psychopath and over 40 "patients/victims" actually died after deep sleep & electro-convulsive so called "treatment" ! @chelmsford under that bastard & by the time an enquiry was established (took the authorities 7 years to get round to it) Bailey had committed suicide.

So many people were damaged mentally & physically from their stay @ Chelmsford, including a few musos & celebrities from that era,Stevie was a notable one. Respect 4 Stevie !

  • I love Stevie Wright ! he is a great friend !!!

  • Evie - By Stevie Wright is the best rock'n'roll song in the world - yes, that's right! Not in Australia, but the world! Stevie Wright is a true legend and history will remember him as one of the beat artists of all time!!

    Love you Stevie !!!!!!

  • He was such a cutie when he was young, would love to see This Is Your Life again, cry through it again, love him again. Good on you Stevie for warning the young against trying drugs-what a legend. xx

  • if he cut his hair and got some new teeth he wud look better seems like a nice bloke tho (after everything hes been thru) on ya stevie xxxxxxxxxx

  • Yes, I'd like him to cut his hair short & more around his face again, might take years off him. Although self inflicted I really feel for him, he wasn't horrible but just a very troubled man. He seems to hold much respect in the music industry these days and deservedly so. xxx

  • Whoa!!! That's the same Stevie Wright from the Easybeats???? What happened to the good looking young man? He doesnt look like the same person.

  • Que grande eres Stevie

    ¡¡Que buenos momentos pasé contigo!!

  • Good on ya Stevie !

  • Your'e a legend Stevie

  • He lives in my town! Hehe he's awesome!!

  • Ahh Stevie, remember what you said to me about what you were thinking as you slid down that drainpipe? You said you were thinking 'What the hell is going to happen at the end of this?!!' But we were in the house, we just didnt hear you.

  • he got some damage from electric shock therapy

  • Thanks for the clip.

Got all the easybeats albums, read his book (hard road), nice to get an update

  • What a gorgeous human being and one of the best front men of all time in Australian Rock and Roll...can't wait for the Easybeats doco..comes out this week I think...

  • Jack Marx is a piece of shit

  • You're right about one thing- lying certainly wouldn't put a penny in your pockets. Telling the truth, however, certainly would- if you had anything interesting and truthful to say..Especially if it weresomething perhaps his sister Rosemary and possibly the rest of the band would allow to be published.

    Put up or STFU.

    Regardless, though

  • FOR THE RECORD:

Jack Marx IMHO is nothing more than a LOWLIFE & LEECH whom I wouldn't waste a cent of my time or money to listen to for even a second!

  • "Marx began writing reviews and articles for the free Sydney music press and was soon employed by the Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian edition of Rolling Stone as a freelance music correspondent. He became notable for reviewing albums while openly admitting he had not listened to them, choosing instead to search the packaging and liner notes for "the tell-tale signs that you're in for an hour of crap".-Wikipedia

Need I say more about the man?

  • I have just discovered Stevie and also the Easybeats. I'm totally hooked. I absolutely love this music. I need to get some records, not cd's. I am in awe of this man and his music, it's absolutly f'ing fantastic!!! Thank you for some of the best music I've ever heard!

  • Congratulations Stevie - your story has had its ups and downs but it is inspiring in so many ways as a story of survival

  • Hi, Mother Cheryl Thomas pretty much grew up with Stevie and the rest of the guys when they were in Villawood MH in the 60s and i love and grew up with the music and im sitll doin the ood cover of black eyed bruiser with mates.... Stevie is a champ !!

  • dear faye,

he is a living legend and although he has battled bad health is looking in good shape!!

best wishes to both of you,

    life long fan

    glenn mac

    sydney

  • The Legend is still here.He still Rocks

    as ever..

  • To All Fans who choose to believe Jack Marx Book. Stevie has not had drugs for 20 years, He hasn't had a drink for 15 years, came off Methadone over 12 Months ago.The only thing he has trouble with is tobacco. Stevie has diabetes which he is battling with, So it is your loss to not see him perform or buy his merchandise. You believe what you want as he doesn't need people like you in his life.

Don't discourage encourage instead Yours Sincerely Fay Walker

    PARTNER AND MANAGER

  • Please tell Stevie that he has a huge new fan in Texas! I absolutely love him and his music and will defend him to anyone who needs setting straight!! Much love to you and Stevie!

  • Faye, thank you for this marvelous statement. Stevie will always be much loved because he is a dinky di legend. Much love and best wishes to you both.

  • Good on you Fay..I don't know the man..but Stevie was part of my life growing up in Sydney. He seems like a very funny, gentle and lovely man. A stand out performance for me was "concert of the decade" back in 1979...what a brilliant human being and performer...

  • @messups

I love Stevie no matter what

The light he's shone in this world with his music continues to shine through time

It is amazing to have watched part of his life journey from the 60's through these days

The invincibility of youth, the fragility of time destines us all...no one is immune

Please let Stevie know i love him and shower him with Blessings from God :)

  • @messups .... i do admire him for quitting all his vices even though i've said some nasty things bout his current talent

  • @frizzlefrap ..... he hasn't any, lol!!!!

  • @messups Hi Faye and Stevie. I did feel that Marx's book was more about him dealing with his own demons rather than a biography about Stevie. Bless Stevie for still going well. He is natural and unpretentious-treats everyone the same.

Thanks for that quote, Don't discourage, encourage instead.

I will try to apply it in my life and I know it will help make me a better person.

May our creator bless you both. Warm regards to you.

  • @messups.. Is this a quote from Fay, or is this Fay? If it is Fay, How are yous doing.. its Collette.x x x Think of you's often. • and I'll leave it at this, what you say is correct. Either way it's pretty sad. Also the bloke is a legend and he is having a good go good on him and good luck to you too!

  • He's like the Syd Barrett of the Australian music scene...except that he just doesn't fade away. And that's a GOOD THING !

So many Americans have no idea that without the Easybeats, there would most likely have been no AC/DC.

  • saw him play the closing set in byron bay last week. It was AWESOME! Stevie is wicked as an old codger don't you worry! He did at least 6 numbers and pumped more life into that crowd than I believed possible for ANY performer. If u can get to Perth in Feb 09 catch him then.

  • He still has that twinkle in his eyes, had a tough time i think.

feel really sad for some reason.

  • When he smiles, you can still see that cheeky glimmer in his eyes. He is incredibly charming. Very very sweet man. I didn't know that his autobiography was out now, I will definitly have to check that out. :D

  • God bless him,he was my favourite in the sixties,,well done Stevie,

  • Good on you Stevie. You totally impress me.

  • Stevie Wright is still the man!!! God bless him. He's one of the all time best.
