The Ak-47 was made in 1947 and still in use today because it's so simple to learn to use all you have to do is know how to load a mag, then cock the chargin handle to fire. The AR-15 was made in the 1980s(i think) so it fires the 5.56. but people can buy upper and lower recevers to have it fire SMG rounds or i think i read about it firing the 7.62. so fire power isnt every thing for firearms its the person behind the rifle. correct me if im wrong but dont be a douch about doing so...

Contrary to popular belief, the M16 has more killing power than the AK-47. For penetrating buildings, the AK-47 is better but that just leads to collateral damage and civilian death.

What crap are you kiddies smoking? The old ass AK design uses a larger bullet, has no buffer spring, or any kind of counter pressure to its recoil. This means it has more kick requiring you to make larger adjustments to get back on target hence making it less accurate. Now add in the fact if you did fight with it you are going to have an adrenaline dump which will elevate breathing and make your hands shake. Good luck with that.

The main problem for the ak47 type of guns are the sights, not very good at accuracy but good for quick targetting and following a moving target. Also it totally depends what ak variant you are firing, while a standard ak47 can be accurate to 150 maybe 200 meters. The aks underfolding stock variant is quite crappy for accuracy from what I heard.

@7Some7Dude7 I have shot several variants with several different kinds of ammo. You're never going to get the accuracy out of an AK that you will with an AR.
They're made to work, spray and pray, and press to the foreheads of political dissidents. I exaggerate of course. They're functional guns that are accurate enough. But loose tolerances, stamped parts and bad machining (in some cases) are not going to add up to a terribly accurate rifle.
and if you see a slow-mo of ANY gun firing (with a rifle length barrel that is) you will see that the "barul wobels"
You are somewhat correct in your statement however, it really depends on the quality of manufacture of the AK, specifically how well the barrel is pressed into the trunnion. The better pressed, the less "wobel"

@peptobismol9 The reason an AK-47 is not accuracy has to do with how loose all of the internal parts are, which is why it wont jam when soaked in mud, which is a draw back when it comes to accuracy. So now it won't be as accurate as anything else. Wandering Zero is the term used with older style rifles such as the AK.

and if you see a slow-mo of ANY gun firing (with a rifle length barrel that is) you will see that the "barul wobels"
You are somewhat correct in your statement however, it really depends on the quality of manufacture of the AK, specifically how well the barrel is pressed into the trunnion. The better pressed, the less "wobel"

as you can see, this seems to be a experienced shooter. and not like those "m-16 vs ak-47" where the ak shooter almost have the iron sight up in his forehead... and then they complain on the recoil that makes the ak a bad gun... pfft, learn to shoot

@Flamingcobra98 I wouldn't really say the AK-47 is a terrorist weapon. A lot of terrorists use it but it is a Chinese/Russian assault rifle made it 1947 and used in late WWII.

Get off your video games and go do some research.
Terrorist use any weapons they can get their hands on. General militias have limited funding so they buy used rifles from anywhere. Typically their choice is AK 47 because they are cheaply mass produced. They also might use M16 from buying them when they are used in the Vietnam war.

Your statement was that you have "seen" them with SCARs and G36s, and then you talk about what they "could capture" or the hypothetical black market. I submit to you sir, that questioning what you have seen isn't me not knowing weapons, it's me calling you on what is obviously a lie.

As devistating as the AK-47 is, I dont give a damn about accuracy. People complain about accuracy with Ak-47s, but the reality is, if they practiced with it some, it would be just as accurate as anything else

@peptobismol9 The reason an AK-47 is not accuracy has to do with how loose all of the internal parts are, which is why it wont jam when soaked in mud, which is a draw back when it comes to accuracy. So now it won't be as accurate as anything else. Wandering Zero is the term used with older style rifles such as the AK.

@travkit little bit more experience and research goes a long ways. Modern hunters rarely fire over 100 yards. After WWII they did studies to figure out the average range soldiers engaged targets. It was around 150 yards. So the govt. set out to get rifles in the service that were designed for 200 yards instead of the traditional 1000 yards standard.
