I -- and I'm guessing you too -- would be happy to see a system of regulated brothels in the US (these already exist in other parts of the world). I would go further than that though, and claim that even unregulated prostitution is better than the system we have today. I see no good reason why consenting adults should not be able to exchange money for sex especially since these exchanges already take place implicitly. The mistreatment of women is real, but it has little to do with prostitution.
