  • I feel so bad, I watch my uncle's german shepherd while he's out of town alot. And he's been taking meds for his kennel cough, and I just feel so bad cuz he's coughing and I feel helpless. Like he's doing it right now.

  • COTSWOLD CLUB

  • my mini golden doodle does this daily! thank you so much for this. i though she was really sick or something! well she is but not severely. sometimes she coughs up some white foam.

  • reminds me of that one seinfeld episode where kramer started taking dog pills because he and the dog had the same cough

  • I'm always scared when my dog does that i always feel like I did something wrong like over feeding him.and sometimes when he does that i feel like hes gonna barf. :( Should I take him to a vet is my answer :(

  • Thank you for this video. Now I know it's kennel cough.

  • My dog did that for about 2 weeks but then it went away....sometimes she'd gag.

  • I have a Beagle what he does sounds almost like this but not exact his sounds more like he has something stuck in his nose and cant get it out.

  • @ripdbd6604 did u take him to the vet? is so what causes that?is it really kennel cough? my dog does that every now and then

  • @mssteph0045 urs sounds like kennel cough for sure my dog had something called backwards sneezing took him to the vet they just told me to give him benedryl.

  • Just like all the other viewers -- thank you very much for posting this video.

  • is it serious when ur dog has kennel cough?

  • @HaileyandTatishow It can be, yes.

  • thanks for this video. I thought our dog swallowed something when i heard him making such sound. My husband said it is flu.I did not believe him. Now I am convinced.

  • BAAAAAAAWW D: What exactly is kennel cough? Just wondering.

  • two of my dogs suddenly started coughing like this 2 days ago. The 3rd dog (different breed) is fine it seems. It pains me to hear them coughing, can't imagine what I'd do if something happened to them. Unfortunately i don't have the money to take them to the vets now.

  • Doggeh Coughs :-(

  • ... My dog contracted kennel cough at the vet's office, when she was being treated for other infections.

  • Not all dog coughs are kennel cough. My dog was coughing like that and was diagnosed with pneumonia due to blastomycosis. It can be fatal if not treated properly. It's imperative to take your pet to the vet. I had no idea he could have blasto, the results from my online search were leading to either kennel cough or canine influenza, which delayed my visit to the vet. Wanted to share my experience with other pet owners, get informed but don't rely solely on internet research.

  • kennel cough is easy to cure....... what you do is take your dog to the vet to get a check-up and your vet may give you antobiotics (what ever u call it) and give that to them until you run out ,week after week the kennel cough may get smaller and smaller or maybe it will stop instantly. OR you can give them KIDS coughing syrup.. it may not help a lot but if the kennel cough isn't extremly bad you can use it...................... TRY IT!!

  • oh i guess my dog has this now

  • A lost dog I am babysitting sounds like this right now. Ive quarantined him in my room with me overnight. Should I be concerned.

  • @jlenoconel um duh

  • Thank you for posting, I have asked so many people about our adopted pet and none could tell me what is wrong with him. I will be taking him to the vet in the morning.

  • my dog does that

  • Tyler and Serrar, you both need to take your dog to the vet.

  • so sad

  • Thank you! I hope Dixon is doing well. My dog is currently suffering from Kennel Cough. We took him to the vet yesterday thinking that he had bloat, but thankfully he did not. I'm still very worried because he is 12 years old and this is the first time he's been sick like this.

  • which kind for shot the vet give to your boriquadominicana

  • omg my dog sounds like that hes done that occasionally since i got him but not that much maybe like once every three or four months.. not alot. but last weekend i look him to th vet and they gave him shots and hes been doing it daily alot now... im worried

  • thanks for posting this vid! my dog has been doing that ever since he came back from the vet! now from this video i see that its dangerous and i am taking him to the vet tomarrow :) thanks a ton

  • Thank god for people like you! my dog was gagging and coughing up phlemmy stuff and my neighbor told me it could be kennel cough. I had no clue what it was but now that I saw your vid I'm sure it is. Thanks!

  • What you did in this condition with your dog.

  • I have a year old English Mastiff that started gagging. We first thought bloat, then a splinter but this video help prove that he had kennel cough. Thank you for putting it up. We were scared to death thinking he might have bloat. It is amazing how these creatures ingrain themselves into our lives. Couldn't live without a dog, wouldn't want to.

  • @rugbymom75 True I haven't forget my first dog, Traisy, she was only 16 years. Many people I know doesnt comprehend how much owners love their dogs.

  • Thank-you so much for the video!!!!! i took my dog to the vet last week or more and she said she had allergies and prescribed her an antihistamine. I just knew it was something more. I should of followed my gut....... My dog sounds exactly and I mean exactly like yours and she going to the vet today and definitely a different one!

  • HÖH..

  • hey my dog recently had the kennel cough shot where she had a really bad allergic reaction but now she does this occasionally and at first the benedryl seemed to help it but now it doesn't she doesn't do this ALL day but like 2 or 3 times a day mostly at night or early morning. I am saying this to ask did your dog do it all the time or just here and there? Thanks in advance....

  • how you treat your dog in this condition pleas?

  • i gave her a super tiny dose of cough syrup, it finally went away on its own....she coughs once in a blue moon just like us humans....my dog is fine now.

  • i think human medicine can used for that purpose. Actually my colleague doctor said one about it. What you say as may you have greater experience then me.

  • Thanks for posting the video.

Sorry that Dixon had to go through that (and the ACL surgery, as well). Can I ask what treatment, if any, he underwent for the kennel cough (in most cases, I understand that it goes away on its own)? Did you have to use antibiotics? Cough syrup? How long did the hacking last? Approximately how many times during the day did he hack?

    (Continued)

  • (Continued)

I'm concerned that my golden, Pippin, might have kennel cough as well. About 2 days ago, he hacked about 15 times during the day. Yesterday, around 10 times or so. Today, so far, twice (it's now 2 P.M.). He's going to the vet tomorrow.

He also had a ruptured ACL. Had a TPLO about 2 years ago. Was not successful. Can't put much weight on it. Hope Dixon's, if you went the TPLO route, turned out much better.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • Aww! I'm so sorry

  • You're a douche lol

  • wow really idiot?

  • Your dog may have cancer..cancer can go many years with no signs and soon youll notice your dog has a giant tumor in it's stomach! After this tumor is formed, big or small, the cancer may spred; coughing can be an indicator that the caner has spread to its lungs. By this point in time it is almost guarenteed to late to do anything about the cancer. Other symptoms are fatigue, depression, increased laziness, as well as loss of appitite.4 out of 5 dogs develop cancer sometime throughout their life.

  • my dog seems to sneeze after a siries of repetative coughs. i observed and sometimes she spat out a slime. when she keeps it in she swallows it. should i take her in 2?

  • my dog is doing exactly the same but not all the time just in some moments since 2 months ago. also he is not eating very much. do you think he can have this kennel caugh?

  • we had our dog in to see 2 different vets - each vet gave her antibiotics. the second vet gave her anti-cough tablets too. Finally about one month later the cough started going away on its own. After about 2 months she quit coughing completely. Our dog is completely normal now. The 2nd trip to the vet cost us $80 - you might want to try some over the counter cough medicine in very reduced amounts. And you should probably make sure your dog is drinking - and doesn't have a temperature.

  • QUESTION: my dog (maltese) coughs like that a lot. should I take him to the vet?

  • if the cough is ongoing for more than 2 weeks I would take him in.

  • @gjahnke 2 weeks is too long because cough in a dog isnt normal.

  • I was told that coughing a bit daily is normal. but if he's coughing a lot take him to the vet. my vet told me today that my dogs lungs could be damaged from the coughing. you don't want such a thing happening to your dog.

  • Your comments have nothing to do with the video you've seen. "coughing a bit daily" has nothing to with this subject matter. Lay off the pot. This is about kennel cough.

  • my comment was a response to funibuni13. You're not the one to tell me when to "lay off the pot"!

  • so how long does kennel cough last? our dog sounds like that but the vet said she was ok, the cough has been hanging on for 2 months, not really bad but not going away either.

  • 2 MONTHS?!?! WAT?!?! my dog just got it like 2 days ago i hope he gets better soon cuz all he does is sleep all day and he wont eat

  • you should take him in. He may have a severe case of kennel caugh. usually when they stop eating then it went from mild to more serious.

  • your dog has reverse sneezing, common and permanent, though not deadly, just incredibly fucking annoying

  • my dog is doing exactly the same, and my case is exactly like yours. still with the caugh and vet said he was ok :s

  • lol funny

  • CrazyCrackerguy kennel cough is not fucking funny!

  • my dog got that we didn`t know wat it was so we tought he was gonna die but the vet told us and he is all better now :)

  • my dog just got it :[[[
