Sounds great Dan.... I will use your suggestion next time......I've also used chicken cubes in place of the shrimp for people not eating seafood.... also quite delicious.. and tossing in some Andouille Sausage makes this dish spectacular.
Try it with a can of tomato paste instead of tomato sauce. Saute the tomato paste in a flat pan for about 8 minutes. Then add it to the crock pot, and fill up the used can with some white wine and add that as well. MMmmmmmm. Whole other dimension of flavor.
This 1 looks so good, Steven! I may have to get a crack pot! I mean CROCK.
BTW, as 1 who's never cooked seafood, would it be possible to use the pre-cooked shrimp I see in my grocery's deli dept? Just add it in to warm it, say the last 5 minutes or so?
I saw Paula Deen's Shrimp Creole recipe some time back and it was very similar to yours...delish! One question, have you ever tried doing this with scallops, either by themselves or with the shrimp?
Enjoyed your video and plan on trying your recipe soon!
Thank you for posting this. I bought some shrimp today and wasn't sure how I was going to prepare them. I'm going to cook them like this. Looks SO delicious!
The Shrimp Creole was DEVOURED by my family! In fact, I made a grocery run today and my daughter asked me to cook it again. Thank you again for posting this healthy recipe. People here in Louisiana make their Shrimp Creole with a roux... making it fattening. But I love this one SO much better. It is not heavy like a roux based sauce and no regrets after :)
Brown rice is great too... for this recipe I chose the pure flavor of the white rice -- I didnt want the "grainy" texture and taste of brown. But go for it......
Thanks! Can't wait to try this out

Why not brown rice? It has more protein, fiber, and taste espeicially when cooked in vegetable broth. Mmm
