No doubt Carreras is great, but IMO I prefer Domingo, so there you have it. Just a musical personal pref. I agree that there are more opera singers, singing at very similar levels of greatness, but there is only one rocker, Freddie, who can transcend from rock to Opera.

It seems that FM fans are rude, crude & insulting! To Ikarus361, thank's for uploading, I so enjoy MC and JC singing together, they make a great team. Bravo to the musical director for choosing them for the OC. Two famous Catalans singing at the Olympic Games in their home city of Barcelona. Bravo MC&JC!

Cricriiii, we are all entitled to our own opinion, that is what the comments section is for. Josep Carreras is such a great singer & a gentleman, even he wouldn't agree with me but he also wouldn't agree with what you said about me. To your comment 'There is one Freddie Mercury...' I say thank God & yes there are many opera singers but only one Josep Carreras. If there were more people like this wonderful humble kind hearted giant man this world could only be better for it bravo Josep Carreras!

ralphvds I think it sounds great with Montserrat Caballe and Josep Carreras singing it. I listened to Freddie Mercury, but he is a shouter. Anybody can shout but only Carreras can sing like Carreras.

@AKJC48 this is a stupid comment mate. Comparing Mercury and Carreras... I mean one is an opera singer another a rockstar... Carreras isn't a shouter, Freddie mercury is (or at least, that proves you don't know his music well), and ? Mercury couldn't do what Carreras did, Carreras couldn't do what Mercury did? And then ? There is one Freddie Mercury, there are plenty of opera singer and to be honnest, I love opera and there are so many better singers than Carrera.

@natachag77 No lo busques, no existe, precisamente Josep Carreras y Sarah Brightman es el dueto para substituir "Barcelona" Montserrat Caballe cantó en la ceremonia pero fueron canciones populares en catalán, otra cosa es la final de la Champions League del 1999 en el Nou Camp (Manchester-Bayer de Munich) donde Caballé en la ceremonia del partido canto "Barcelona" con Freddie Mercury en la pantalla gigante del estadio del FC Barcelona

@8740cat Creo que se perdió mucho al no aprovechar la grabación en el '92, pero quizá Montse no estaba preparada para lidiar con eso. Sí, ese video en el Camp Nou lo vi hace un par de años en YouTube, y fue muy conmovedor pese al escándalo. Pienso que Freddie se grabó cantando, mirando a la cámara para que Montserrat cantase el tema de todas maneras. Él era muy previsor... Supongo que ya sabía que no estaría para la inauguración.

@natachag77 Haber lo del tema de la cámara no tiene nada que ver, siempre que se graba un espectáculo se coge de mil ángulos distintos por multicamara, en este caso también debe de existir toda la canción entera con primeros planos de Montserrat Caballé, luego eso se edita y se cogen los mejores planos y en acorde al movimiento de la música, no hay mas.
