@97warlock you dont need a seprate pa system for the banshee 2 and has a effects loop and also both get either talk box or talk box and guitar amp at the same time
I cant seem to find out What the difference is between the Banshee & the Banshee 2 ...they both say true bypass ....anyone know what makes the BANSHEE 2 any better?
@PicciProductions Nope, you can produce sound loud enough to practice with without a mic, if you want to use it to perform, however you'd probably want a mic.
hey mate I am getting on of this . I own pod x3 live and wish to attach this talk box with it. can you help me with how to connect this talk box with the pedal board? hoping for an early reply.. take care
@AnindyaBoseKurt Well, I guess it depends on whether you want to be able to apply x3 effects to the talkbox tone. If you want to, put the x3 between the guitar and the talkbox. The talkbox will take whatever tone it gets in, amplify it, and send it out the mouth tube.
Can it be used with a multi-effects pedal like the Boss ME70? I'm very worried that I won't be able to use it with my FX. Also, the sound that went directly to the amp at 0:51 is that a bass or a keyboard? I can I avoid making that sound when I bypass the Banshee? Can I even bypass the Banshee?
Very good, I'd LOVE one of them. How do I get hold of one of these or make one? I know I could get the tube from a hardwear store, I expect the tube would have to be a hardish plastic but not too hard or it won't be flexable & I expect it would need to be about 2 or 3 feet long for moving around when using. I would use it via my keyboards, very good for Kraftwerk & other stuff I play & sing. Cheers from Rich
Guys - u wouldn't sing in a big venue without a mic, similarly with a larger space/audience u use the Banshee with a Mic. Just search for Zapp & watch the master, Roger at work
@BonScott41 Not if you are just playing it in a small area. The reason you see people like Frampton and Slash using mics is so that everybody in the venue can hear it
I know many are still baffled by this effect. It is an effect that also relies on you, the player, to use you mouth to make the wah wah sounds, or mouth words as you play notes on the keyboard or guitar. I can't immagine anyone reading this that hasn't heard Peter Frampton use this effect, but an equally impressive use is the band Stillwater's song "Mind Bender". YouTube this video: bt1io_Z2WOQ
@GJMalaquias *IF* you ran this directly to a mixer, you would not be able to get the "mouthed" words or effects. The sound going into your mouth cavity and the formation of your mouth and lips makes the sounds. If you took the signal directly to your mixer, you would just have a distortion sound. By taping the tube to a mic, you can make a wah wah sound or even mouth words (ala Peter Frampton or Stillwater). Otherwise this is an expensive fuzz pedal.
I've owned this talkbox for a few years. It's just this simple: take the cable from your guitar and plug it into the Banshee, take another cable from the Banshee to your amp (or effects). With the Banshee off, the signal routes right through as normal, when you click the footswitch, the signal cuts off and is routed through an internal amp inside the Banshee into a speaker in the box and up the tube. Live, you will tape the tube to your mic. The Banshee has plenty distortion.
Hello, i would like to ask two things to you, this talkbox you only need to plug it in your guitar and send to the amplifier or need something else, and what the diferences betwen the banshee one to the second
@SLASHdaROCKER Yes, it has an output that will power a small speaker. I plugged it into a 4x12 and you can hear it as a practice amp, but it doesn't have tremendous volume. REMEMBER: this is an effect pedal. Guitar > Banshee > Mouth > Mic is the intended purpose. You can sit around without the tube in the Banshee and you can hear it enough to jam in your bedroom, I suppose. I have done that before, just being lazy to hook up a rig.
@forum2891 being able to clearly say words is more about technique than settings. It's all about exaggerated mouth movements as well as actually sounding out all the hard sounds, "ch, k, t, v" with your mouth. All the clicks you make when talking you have to include when using the talkbox.
@GJMalaquias it has a "to amp" output that moves the signal through the box when the talk box is turned off, but as far as putting the modulated sound into a mixer, the talk box effect is created by the shape of your mouth so the sound comes out of your mouth and can be picked up by a microphone. The talkbox itself doesn't "output" the modulated sound in an electronic form that could be plugged via 1/4" or any kind of cable into a mixing board.
@RockPwner Not to make it work, The sound will come out of your mouth and be decently loud, but for a live setting you would want to have a microphone to make it louder.
alright.. I've had my talkbox for a couple of years now and haven't really used it.. BECAUSE --> The only sound I could get from it was the preamp.. not that good in my oppinion, but when I turn the preamp off, I couldn't get any sound at all.. any help?
The talkbox is just an amp in essence. You need some kind of input signal to make it work. As far as the tone, it doesn't come from the talkbox, there's a lot of fine tuning groups such as Daft Punk do to get a really good keyboard to to then put through a talkbox. It's not too hard to get a decent tone though. I'd suggest picking up a keyboard at a garage sale, there's tons of them out there for cheap.
if i was do use the talk box with a band do i need to use a mic for it? im not sure what i need to do to make it louder and use with my band cuz i want to. could u help me with that process of what i need to do to get it louder?
In a band setting you're probably going to need a microphone. The Rocktron is probably the loudest you can get, but it definitely can't keep up with amped guitars. Some kind of mic setup is required.
All you need is an input signal to make it work. You don't need a mic unless you want to make it louder through a PA. As far as making discernible words, it depends on the kind of tone you have going into the talkbox, more distorted sounds will make for clearer words. Using a keyboard for input is your best bet I think.
I'm a major newb in the realm of talkboxes, but I've definitely been thinking about saving up for one. What exactly do you need to use one? I've seen people with and without mics using them, some with discernible words, others without. Uy, what do you recommend though?

hello.
I own an Ibanez talkbox and I'm thinking to buy the Banshee 2 because I don't want to carry more amps.
But it seems that the Banshee don't have enough volume in the videos, it isn't ?
and tell me something about the tone control
Thanks for your time

is there a big difference between The Rocktron Banshee Talk Box and the Rocktron Banshee 2 Talk Box?

@SLASHdaROCKER not as far as the talkbox function itself, The Banshee 2 has some other extra functions that I don't think are worth your money.
