One of my best student went on to mechanical engineering and now a president of a university in one of western world. Not many girls do engineering these days but to do mechancial engineering is an inspiration to many girls.
this is laughable. A clear case of TV9s lack of understanding, and over-sensationalism.
"Veda" I am assuming is an american citizen, or green card holder at minimum.
With that being said she really isn't "Indian" per say.. nor is she a foreign applicant.
She is considered an American studying abroad for high school.
She clicks the box called "American citizen, permanent resident" which immediately takes her out of the foreign category, and puts her as a normal HighSchool applicant to MIT.
Can anyone FUCKING give me the english translation of the SHIT thing that Southies are saying. I live in India and really am not able to understand telugu shit.
@Karanju Are you an idiot? If you cant understand the language then either learn it or move elsewhere. Don't criticize other languages just because you are too incompetent to understand what they are saying
@Karanju In 2011 only TWO indians got admission into MIT which IS THE worlds best university, zillions times better than IIT,DU,NIT....To enter into the university gates SAT exam score is important .she got much higher score and beated all 10,000 foriegn exhange applications from all over worlds
To all of u that are making all these comments about her, just know that in America, getting into MIT is just as hard as getting into IIT in India. You don't know how tough the SATs are. I recently took them (as an eighth grader), so I can say that. The only difference is that IIT focuses mainly on math and in America, the SATs focus a lot more on English. This is going to be me in another four years. Going to MIT has always been a dream for me, and the surprising thing is that my name is Veda
@theswimstar97 I agree with the fact that getting into MIT is very difficult if you are a US student. However, don't compare the SATs with the entrance exam for IIT. The SATs are honestly, child's play, compared to the IIT JEE (IIT entrance Exam). I know because I got a high score on the SAT and I spent several months reading IIT-JEE books as they were good preparation for math and science competitions in the US.
The reason it is very hard to get into MIT is because admission is holistic.
i am not criticising..she has done good job ofcourse..parents antha educated and she studied in abroad already..its not a too much big thing as this channel shows..there are lacs of poor students not only in AP, in whole india..if u help them, they will make wonders..
OMG ... why do these people create such hype ??? Dude Do you people know that competition for IIT is more than MIT ?? Second thing is its UG guys .Common on grow up .. there are people who are doing awesome thing out there ... and we Indians ,more likely AP guys are striving on pedigree .This is shit Anyways Vidya congrats ...
This girl is clearly an American, as are her parents. I dont understand why this is news-worthy - many ABCDs get into MIT. Indian parents (Citizens of India) should never send their sons or daughters to the US to do Bachelors unless they want them to become Americans (think sex, drugs and alcohol). Non-profit my ass. India doesnt need non-profits. India needs quality, home-grown citizens. I hope she takes her parents with her and I hope they never come back. They are not Indians. Jai Hind.
@chanakya999 your comment is not worthy of reading. it doesn't motivate are give some good out put. You are talking about the shit in you mind. this video can clearly motivate students . So think what your comment is doing?? so please thing before you do some thing how is it going to effect. !!
dumbass what do you know about NRI's. You have more chances of doing drugs in India than in US. Also get of out your house and watch the youth. New generation of youth in India are already dating. Iam sure that includes your sister.

A foreign applicant faces a tougher situation.. since the number of spaces allotted for foreign kids from all nations is minimal.
Veda is just another brown girl at MIT becoming an engineer.
She is not an "Atcham ayna telugu girl.." Tv9 needs to calm its ass.
Not putting down "Veda" in anyway. I'm sure she must have had a stellar app with high SAT scores, and great ECs... but come on..
enough of this telugu ammayi bullcrap.
thank you.
