WOW !!! What a great 1950's sound. Typical background for those love songs back then. Listen to Ed Townsend's For Your Love on YouTube. Etta and Ed are the standards in my opinion. Beyonce, Agularia and others, try something else. If for nothing else, just listen to the background music. The modern singers don't have that sound. By the way, did Beyonce lipsync the song at the Inaugeration like Husdon did at the Super Bowl? If you can't sing live, then get off the stage.

I completely respect your opinion. The 1950s sound is beautiful. But this is 2009. While nowadays singers pay homage to the past they aren't the same. So of course the sound is different.

And when it comes to Hudson singing the anthem. It was at the insistence of the Super Bowl producer that she lipsync. But the voice we all heard was hers. And if nothing else respect the fact that she is out there displaying her voice during a time when most people would still be to heartbroken to leave home.

First of all, Hudson is unbelievable for being so strong and singing for us.everyone knows she CAN sing. And for your info, with a powerful voice like hers it's not recommended to sing live at the Superbowl! If she had sung live then you could actually have complained because it would have been awful for the timing and the sound. it is a HUGE stadium! DUH!! PS: guess what? the famous Whitney Houston superbowl performance was NOT live. yet I bet you LOVED it!Give the girl a chance she's amazing!
