Secondly, the Pokemon themselves - they're way too weird, the names, the "creatures" they reflect, for instance something obvious, Magikarp - It's obvious that it's a fish, and that goes on in the first generations. But since Diamond and Pearl, the Pokemon are starting to look more abstract than anything ->

personally i think the 8-bit themes sound more fitting. Ie. gsc's ruins of aplh is more terror-inducing and gsc lor is more dramatic than hgss' lor theme. the 8bit themes are better but not just because of the awesome memories that came with it.
