The string of interruptions here (4:18) about Chat Roulette are embarrassing. Just shut up. Let the guy talk. Look at his face,... it's saying "STFU Dude!"
Dude no one cares about chatroulette visitors. We get that you get that the user/application rate has drastically changed since the 70's. That's the whole point to why there are now technologies on the rise who are different from your classic transactional systems. Just let your damn guest talk, I'm trying to listen here :(
Great information but Scoble is insanely annoying with the constant interruptions that add no value to this video. What's really funny is how annoyed the speaker appears each time Scoble opens his mouth. I watched the whole thing completely expecting the speaker to say, "Would you shut up and let me finish!"
Very nice video for quick but comprehensible introduction to no-SQL. I shared it with my colleagues when we had talk on the subject (so here you go - viral spreading of information about Northscale (-: ). Thanks a lot for making it short, precise and nice. Cheers.

The guy with the cam you talk to fucking much, uuuh i went into Googles data centre, uhhh i went in to Xtube datacenters.... no one fucking cares you Egocentrical man............ phew glad i took that out
You talked about "relatively unstructured data". I think it's strange to consider relational technology good for unstructured, probably hierarchical information?
While I recognize that relational databases (or even column stores) have a perfect model for things that look like tables, having a backend that isn't optimized for documents (for information) when you want to store documents seems prone to - in the long run - exhibit the same flaws as you are pointing to RDBMSs today.
My point is that if you are storing something that looks like: - graphs; maybe you should be looking for neo - objects; maybe you are looking for couch - documents; maybe you are looking for an xml solution
While everyone see's the value proposition of NoSQL as a scale-horizontally shared nothing architecture I don't think people give enough emphasis to the underlining data model, and most of all how that data model affect storage, retrieval and throughput of information. That is really important and people seem to be overlooking that part of the NoSQL movement - in my opinion that is one of the key points: we leave the one size fits all to get shoe sizes that actually fit.
@dscape Thanks : ) it's kinda weird getting scobleized. A Canon 5d camera 6 inches from your face for 25 minutes is a little unnerving. Always been a big fan of Mark Logic, by the way. - james.

Anyway great video, thanks for the share and insights. Always good to get fresh opinions from people doing ground breaking work! :)
disclaimer: I work for MarkLogic, but these are my opinions/thoughts and have nothing to do with the company's positions etc.
