  • probably this station uses like 2 computers for music and a crossfader setup for switchin between the systems. Somebody must have accidentally moved the crossfader to the middle n that's why u can hear 2 songs playin @ the same time (I assume)

  • Two songs playing at once: that's a good way to fall asleep. On rare occasions when I can't fall asleep, I'll sometimes put on both the radio and TV.

  • Thats to funny can we say automation screw up ???? Plus nobody at the studio to fix it due to corp. or budget cutbacks getting rid of the ones on the board who used to fix that sorta problem. I should know I was one of them who got cut...LOL =)

  • @jaxxmiller Ya, it's sad that the radio business has gotten so automated. I bet a lot of people were upset that weekend... The phone lines were all constantly busy, even the one for cumulus themselves.

  • something was wrong with that Marantz. After all, why was the cover off?

You were trying to fix it? Overheating trouble? ... How old is that thing 30 years old?

    It's built prior to 1980.

  • I used pick up a local FM station from about 40 miles away in about 1997. That signal gradually faded away over about 6 months. Sadly it didn't interfere with the awful local station we have here :-P and that was at night.

Maybe you're picking up a station not intended for your area.

  • @badbob1983 that happens here alot at times during the summer and when the fm broadcast bands e-skip is up meaning u can recieve distant radio stations and at times if the distant station or stations signal comes in strong enought it can and will cover the local station signal up and ull hear the distant stations just like u where next to the dx stations transmitter at times . this eskip also used to happen to the analoge tv stations aswell look up eskip here on youtube or google eskip

  • Could it be someone close by with an FM transmitter tuned to the same station?

  • @pamperchu nah probably not he would have completely overlapped the station

  • Awesome!! Sandstorm remix!!

  • What speakers are those that you have mounted in the wall? They certainly have quite a big sound, have heard them in your other videos.

  • @je888g If I recall, they are Pioneer B20FU20-51FW. You can get them at Parts Express. I recommend using separate tweeters with them though, as they don't have the best treble response.

  • @Maxxarcade I thought they were pioneer b20's, I have heard they arent the greatest for high frequencies, might use them with some piezo tweeters, thinking of using them in a cheap speaker build (soundbar for a tv)

  • @je888g They should work well for that, as long as the box is the right size.

  • What kind of speakers can you connect to these?

  • @MechaNintendoMast If you mean what impedance, 4 or 8 ohms is best for one pair. If using both outputs at once, 8 ohms per pair.

  • Open house? are you moving?

  • @genmac1 "Open House Party" is the name of the program that was on.

  • @Maxxarcade lol ah I see

  • At least its a nice remix of sandstorm.

  • Kill it, with fire.

  • That is weird as heck. I've never heard that before.

  • I just tuned it in. It seems that they have fixed the problem (4:22 on Sun. morning.)

This is not a station I listen to regularly though. Not my type of stuff.

  • Sounds like nobody's home at the palace! The best thing that station can do is go back to being a rock station like the old days.

Where'd you get that beautiful Marantz 2225? What I wouldn't give to find one of those cheap!

  • @JeffN727 I think my Dad got this receiver at a pole barn sale. I wasn't sure if you saw the restoration video yet or not., but it's nearly finished now. I hope to put the cover on tomorrow.

  • @Maxxarcade I saw it after I watched this video.

  • That's an interesting techno remix!

In this day and age of automation, syndicated programming, and "voice tracking" (where the DJ is pre-recorded), goof-ups like this are not uncommon. Many stations only actually have somebody "live" on the air during the weekday morning and afternoon shows. Evenings and weekends are often entirely automated.

  • @vwestlife yeah ppl calling in that they are airing, dont say anything about this overlapping problem. it probably is automated and prerecorded.

  • @vwestlife "Darude - Sandstorm"

  • lol

  • it still is im listening to it online hahaha

  • @computerdude556 Wow, the online broadcast is hosed too? LOL no wonder the phone is busy.

  • @Maxxarcade it seems the DJ is just acting like nothings wrong. you can hear him talk in the mix of songs every few song. they have to know somethings going on. XD

  • @computerdude556 I noticed that too. I think they are out doing a live show and broadcasting remotely. Maybe they aren't listening to what's actually coming off the tower.

  • @Maxxarcade oh yeah your probably right. they forgot to shut off the music at the station hahaha. that's funny.

  • hahaha ooops

  • Holy shit, that's crazy!
