It's ironic that Black Widow Bride Constance replaced Beating Heart (called Emily Chavanaugh Gracey by most detoting fans), since Constance's life as a black widow who murders her husbands would ONLY work IF her husband was The Hatbox Ghost, who was also known as George (or perhaps Yancey), as per the Hanging Portrait in the foyer. This, by proxy, if we go by CM "stories", makes Yancey/George the father of our suicidal Ghost Host aka Master Gracey, making Constance Emily's mother-in-law!
Its special effects are lousy (yeah, that's TOTALLY not a low-quality projection on a mannequin), its story is both out-of-place and hard to notice, and it gets rid of the beating heart- aka the scariest part of the whole ride!
@conkerboy700 ive always noticed that too!! but ppl say no! i think it is! its amazing how the haunted manshion has so many stories hidden but we find them out in the end
Throughout the years, I have found this room to be the scariest in the whole ride. Now, after finding out that there was the hatbox ghost before the first bride, I truly think that this is the freakiest room in the whole thing.
MBrilhart, the original bride--Emily Gracey--did have a backstory. Ironically, it is the voice behind "Black Widow Bride" Constance herself that recalls the story of Emily, "The Beating Heart Bride". The story of Emily is called NUPIAL DOOM.
@TherealRNO , please Remember that NUPIAL DOOM was only a cast member recollection on one of the many stories told about the bride. The Original Bride had no name at all according to the finalized story scripts; "Emily" was one of many nick-names she received by fans latter on, but the "Gracey" name was never even originally considered part of the story. (It was Yale's Tomb that started that stuff) The original ride manual calls her "Beating Heart"...
@MBrilhart: Bleeding Heart sounds more appropriate, but really, it's ironic that Black Widow Bride Constance replaced her, since Constance's life as a black widow who murders her husbands would ONLY work IF her husband was The Hatbox Ghost, who was also known as George (or Yancey to some), as per the Hanging Portrait in the foyer gallery. This, by proxy, if we go by CM "stories", makes Yancey/George the father of our suicidal Ghost Host aka Master Gracey, making Constance Emily's mother-in-law!
To be honest I think I like the 1st and 2nd attic a little better. The first because you never saw the bride's face, just two glowing eyes and her standing there, quiet and VERY creepy along with those pop-up ghosts. The second because they gave her something of a backstory that seemed kinda tragic with the whole "wedding that never was" theme going on; plus it was more faithful to the cast members' original stories about the ghosts' origins. To me the modern one just seems so out of place

I miss the old attic! The new one sucks so hard.

What I find the most disturbing is all her "china/tea sets". She has one for each husband.

I think the Phantom playing the music is the Hatbox ghost. Because it looks a lot like him, I can't believe people don't really notice that.

@TheITinFIT: Agreed. I prefer Emily Gracey--wife of The Ghost Host, Yale Gracey--over Constance Hatchaway anyday.
