J mann hand picked Waylon to replace him, because J mann thought they sounded alike. the band asked Waylon to stay permanently, and that's when they recorded Savior Sorrow. and yes waylon does appear in the old school shows, you just have to pay attention. look up the old school shows of 2007 specifically for "The New Cult King", 2nd thoughts", and "43".
