  • played this at my dad's funeral 14 years ago - the words are so apt and he did say "goodbye". Love you Dad xxx

  • puts that x factor rubbish to shame....10/10

  • voice of an angel

    r.i.p

  • He was an original and I loved every song he recorded. What a range! Awesome really. R.I.P. Dear sweet balladeer. You made our lives sweeter for your presents.

  • This is my song to my late fiance Joey Dirt </3 R.I.P. Baby... I miss you. and Happy 25th Birthday 1-23-12

  • you knows my dreams roy....

  • Please, please upload original. Thanks.

  • where is the original, please?

  • So beautiful!

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • @fredjmp Lindo, Fred!! Brigada!

  • Great song by the greatest singer. I was on the DMZ in Korea when I first heard this on AFN then it was off to Vietnam

  • great sounding..K.D. Lang comes close but no...only Roy can wale like Roy.R.I.P

  • No one before and no one after. THE MAN

  • Regardless of how old you are, or your musical tastes may be, Roy Orison had an inate and indescribale talent for putting simple words with simple chords into very powerfull feeling emotions. My loss is that I did not understand them until just lately. Bless you Roy for what you given.

  • best best best

  • holy echo chambewrs:(

  • What I love about this song it builds the music as it go towards the end.

Adding to it is the orchestration, which adds a dimensional value. Unfortunately, today's musician don't seem to realize it makes the music

    more elated and exciting.

Another of my favorite - is BLUE ANGEL - you can't help but to realize the violin section is heard and builds up to a special ending.. LOVE IT!

  • he was the best.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. Orbison is one of my favorites. I first heard of him in New Mexico years ago when I was young--so this song brings back all those memories. Thank you.

  • thumbs up if your hear because of blue velvet the movie

  • @jake56ification

Thumbs up if you have the album "In Dreams" I do. Song way before that film. Got a point? It's Roy Orbison, Bono never heard of Roy until this soundtrack. Enough said.

  • ROY,,,your songs really makes me cry, where can we find another artist like you???????????? no where, you are unique....

  • BLUE VELVET made me learn about this beautiful song

  • @Badjokessoldhere1 Last Saturday is the first time I watched blue velvet, and I keep listening to this song ever since.

  • Ich bin ein großer fan von Roy Orbinson, lange vor pretty woman.

  • The lyrics are incorrect.

    At the end it is:

"I live in dreams, in beautiful dreams."

  • @PacRimJim

it's "Only in Dreams, in Beautiful Dreams". Listen.

  • @nula07 I am listening and it's not the original.

  • This is great, but I like the '87 re-record better.

  • this song brings a tear to my eye every time i hear it, it was played at a friends funeral. i love this song and roy. great talented man

  • seldom does one come along so talented as Roy...only the best.

  • roy is the best ,he was a great song writer which he wasnt given enough credit

  • As a lyricist myself, I am totally blown away by this man's remarkable courage and God-given talent. If only . . . -- RWJ

  • Roy said he sang like he did because nobody told him it was impossible. There's a lesson in that somewhere.

  • I hate to tell you folks, but this NOT Roy Orbison's voice singing this song. There are at least 10 high points and several lower range lyrics that absolutely do not match up with other versions of this song. This is not Roy's "original". Whoever posted it and claims it is original is full of crap.

  • @raymondem2 You are dead wrong. As a big Roy Orbison, particularly of this song, I can emphatically say that this is the original.

  • @scottjackson67 I still disagree. This is either NOT roy orbison, or if it is, he certainly was under the weather when he sang it. His face is too puffy and does not LOOK like the photos of him from this period in time.

  • @raymondem2 You're either a complete idiot or you're just trying to bust balls.

  • @raymondem2

youre right. i dont think its ROY ORBISON.A very good impersonation.

  • @raymondem2 In Dreams album, from 1963, Get over yourself.

  • @raymondem2 Clearly a troll, and a poor one at that...

  • there will never be one as good there will never be a singer better... especially not a smoking singer better like he was (a smoking singer).....there will never be a more heartfelt and humble nice man, there will NEVER be another Roy Orbison

  • @Kailjiin R.I.P Roy Kelton Orbison April 23, 1936 - December 6, 1988..... we all miss you and wish you could come back....

  • WHAT A FABULOUS VOICE ! !

  • My favorite Roy Orbison song--just beautiful

  • strings make any song more magnificent!!!!!! case in point - to love u more by celine deon

  • We cant go back. bass man

  • Thank you so much for posting this- my very favorite Roy Orbison song! What a truly amazing voice!

  • I didnt learn about him until Alan Wake came out but now i love him amazing song i wish songs like this still existed today

  • There will never be another Roy, he could hit any note, best pop singer of our time.

    R.I.P. Roy

  • @sowena5678 couldnt agree more man :)

  • @sowena5678 For ballads Matt Monroe, but for powerfull rock ballads Roy has no equal.

  • Must admit I was an ignorant git and presumed Roy Orbison would be pretty naff. This, however, is really beautiful. His voice was amazing and a classic song.

  • String accompaniment is outstanding.

  • Was absolutely ground-breaking in its day. Broke the mould of the pop song - no verses, no bridge, no chorus, just splendid narrative. The work of a pop genius.

  • @Mosquito46

he was the opening act for the beatles in england once. He asked.' What are the Beatles.' John Lennon said.' I am !' ha ha . funny!

  • @bossyboots55

Nope. Look it up. The Beatles were Roy's opening act. So much info you can look up, all we had way back then was what was told to us. You know so much, g'head. do tell.

  • @nula07 Beatlemania had not even begun at that point, but yes, they were scheduled to be his opening act but Roy chose to go on first.... so Roy did in fact open for the beatles.

  • @bossyboots55

Nah. Look stuff up. The Beatles were Roy Orbison's opening act. Jeez, how exhaustive do you allow yourself to be? Look stuff up!!

  • unbelievable!!

  • so wonderful

  • Truly Awesome !!

  • the best !!!!!
