  • RD/DC. hated him when he started was pissed when he left.

  • a dirty jew and a fat tub of shit......and that's funny?

  • Biggest lost in Howard Stern Show history!!!

  • @TheZigzach Couldn't agree more, but he did bring it upon himself.

  • Artie was unstable, had a worsening substance abuse problem, and started screwing up the show. Howard either fired him or told him he was on probation, and he responded in the worst way. The show is much better without the manic/very angry/disruptive 2009 Artie.

  • @timothyrgray i disagree artie was the greatest who was sometimes manic and disruptive and sometimes laid back but almost always funny. imiss artie

  • artie is fucking cool man. I do miss Jackie "the jokeman" martling and his clown laugh. I love both Artie and Jackie. But, they both couldn't handle staying on the show. The only lifers are Robin, Fred and Gary. Those 3 will probably be buried with howard. P.S. what the fuck is Stuttering John doing now ?? Anybody knows ?? Hey Mildred get me the pale again......... I got to puke out all this alcohol and beer. Hurry up you dirty bitch. Oh shit....... am I still typing ?? scratch that

  • @ExclusiveLM .....Stuttering John is on the writing staff for Jay Leno. I don't think he's starving unless he still has a chronic habit...

  • @ExclusiveLM lol

  • I don't get this. Artie recently said he was forced to leave the Stern show b/c of all his addictions/habits, so is all this talk about a contract just a cover? Or did the producers insist on adding "behavioral" clauses and stipulations to Artie's contract and he knew he couldn't stick to it?

  • @jksonny For everyone who doesn't see through the obvious psychology of Lange's actions, here it is in a nutshell;Artie suffers from abandonment issues (for one) as a result of his fathers' demise (clearly unintended, but results in the same feelings none the less). That coupled with being a 'good-guy' at heart and not wanting to 'abandon' people himself, or neglect his responsibilities to the show, or voluntarily QUIT a 'gig' that almost anyone in their right mind would kill for, ...(continued)

  • (continued)...created an internal conflict which resulted in a kind of mania that produced (in his mind) the only means of escape from the show (his attempted suicide). So with, all his substance abuse, compulsive gambling and self resentments issues, he gets handed the opportunity of a lifetime that allowed him to say (in effect) "This is great, I'm on top and can do what I want". However it was that same thing that allowed the lifestyle he wanted, that also disrupted it by ...(continued)

  • (continued)..being a continuous obligation that he couldn't escape (an alcoholic/drug addict has all the money to indulge in his vices but has to be present at work EVERY DAY FOR YEARS AT 4 IN THE MORNING!? Do the math on how long it'll take for THAT routine to breakdown).PLUS, his 'position' and income increased the speed at which he was 'killing himself' anyway. So part of him saw only one way out. For him it was a "damned if he does and damned if he doesn't," catch 22.

  • Artie finally got away from Stern and his obtuse convoluted self-serving personality.

  • I remember the last several months of 2009. Artie got progressively quieter until he was practically like Fred. The last real comedy he was doing was his impression of Chaz Bono being the manliest man on the planet. I think Howard started that and Artie went along with it.

  • lol at that picture - priceless

  • @springblend

I thought it was John Belushi from "Animal House"

  • @TizianoCrudeliNo1Fan Then my daughters friend is the fastest coke head ever

  • artie get better, ur the best.

  • I was not a regular Stern listener at the time all of this went down so I'm not sure of the sequence of events. Did Artie ever officially quit the show or was he just out for a week or so and then attempted suicide?

  • i just think it's a really funny clip. i LOVE the brutal honesty and ball-busting exemplified on the stern show. where else would you experience someone nodding out on-air awoken by an air-horn? i love and miss artie and his contribution to the show.

  • @filtergod listen.....ah.... Artie Lange is a great human being. But, I think a certain percentage of humans on Earth are born less equipped to handle outer or inner demons. They know the risks of drugs before ever trying it. Yes they do become uncontrollable addicts. But, when celebs like Elvis, Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey, Kurt Cobain and your non famous next door neighbor becomes hooked on something they are trying to escape something. That escape becomes self sabotage.

  • Is it true Howard loves other peoples misery, Wow, never really thought about it this way, he loves guys that are a mess, its his hamburger helper, even throws JD in there, good luck Artie, we love you!

  • Being sober and clean can be very serene.

  • Artie is a fragile human being to begin with, he's a natural addict. He had crippling guilt over his father's long and tortured death, because his dad had asked him if he wanted to come work with him that day and he said no, and if he had been there he'd have been holding the ladder and his dad wouldn't have fallen. He took drugs to try to mask that pain, then turned into an addict who needed more and more, then spiraled out of control.

The lesson: deal with your pain head-on without drugs.

  • @superman11978 Yeah...dont be a douche pussy and drag everyone around you down with you. Selfish bastard drug addicts. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • don't feel one bit bad for artie he's had his career handed too him and he's done everything to fuck it up

  • @cottodabodykill Fuck off man. This guy worked 14 hour days for the longest and takes punches and jabs from people around the world to make us laugh. He earned everything he has gotten.

  • I hope Artie lives long enough to do the John Belushi biopic.

  • @Dibrini If they gave him the part it would be too much for him to handle. For his own health I hope he doesn't get the part.

  • it is scary that he was completely lying in this entire video. Not a word of it was true.

  • artie's so self-destructive, he probably romanticizes all those tragic, troubled comedians like Richard Pryor, John Belushi, and Chris Farley and in some sick, strange way wants to be like them. But really he'se not as funny or talented as any of those guys are, but he's good on the show and he shouldn't have blown it.

  • @Tigerlily21- i couldn't disagree more. Pryor, Belushi, Farley all had demons, but they were tv/movie stars. Lang is totally within their realm, but he was known for radio almost exclusively. he is just as funny in his own way. farley cant be contrasted with pryor; pryor is a far better comedian. but its apples and oranges. farley doesn't have to be funnier, he was funny himself. same with lang, he might not be funny in comparison to those mentioned above, but (to me) he is funny himself.

  • @WKRPinCINN Are you out of your fucking mind? Pryor and Belushi are joined by Farley and Lange? In terms of drug abuse yes, but in terms of talent? To place Belushi in the same comedic talent range of Pryor is fucking ridiculous. And your post is inane; comedy isn't apples and oranges, dude: You laugh or you dont. Pryor is consistently ranked by comedians as GOAT. Belushi, Lange and Farley are rarely ever mentioned. You like Lange - cool. But he's no Pryor, who you are clearly underestimating.

  • @TheDucciano - everything that i stated 4 months ago is my opinion and not fact. everything you just said in reply is also an opinion. it's your opinion. if i am "out of my fucking mind", you are an "asshole of the Nth degree" to say that your opinion is better than my opinion.

can i blow your mind? i don't care less what your opinion is. nothing you just wrote me has convinced me to reexamine what i had said originally. Pryor/Belushi/Farley/Lang are all = to me. i don't care if you disagree.

  • @WKRPinCINN I dont care if you said it 4yrs ago. You clearly are a buffoon if you think that Lange is totally within the realm of Richard Freekin' Pryor, dude. And yes, you are entitled to your opinion. But that doesn't mean that you cant have a stupid opinion; I dont get why people do not understand that. The opinion that Artlie Lange is in the same comedic league as Richard Pryor is fucking stupid. Your opinion is uninformed and lacking perspective.

  • @TheDucciano What if I told you your opinion is stupid? Not to mention ignorant...

Sorry to say but you're being a douche.

The guy told you its his opinion and you keep on ragging on it.

Everyone is different. Who you hold in high regard is your choice to make.

  • @TheDucciano

Belushi was only good at physical comedy.

    His material? "But NOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!!"

    Yeah.... pure--copper.

  • Artie is a fat loser. I can't get up at 5 and work 4 hours a day. WAAAAAAHH. Fuck him

  • @t24mack

I could not agree more my friend, this fat lazy slug loser WAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!. I am going to kill myself because I have lived life on a golden platter WAAAAAAA!!!!!!! I do have to know one thing, how does a heroin attic continue to get fatter by the day,.

  • @jlbrewmaster It's spelled addict. An attic is the space between the roof and the ceiling of the top floor of a building.

  • @jlbrewmaster cocaine and ya they can get fat as hell, My daughters friend was a cocaine pig and was huge , he loved to get all coked up and cook and eat .

  • @isaveu

It's a dopamine/serotonin thing, neurochemical imbalance or deficiency

  • I wonder what Howard would say if he heard this clip again. I hope Artie is well.

  • @bonchbonch

Yeah that's why he signed for $500 million...again...so yeah i think a few people still listen to him.....

  • this definitely pushed artie over the edge

  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN YOU ARE A FAG

  • @Severddans I AM A VIRGIN

  • artie is in his safe place ----

  • R.I.P

  • @Jackthemeat hes not dead.

  • f jackie

  • artie really is a loser druggie, he was more annoying on this show then ever, talked to much acted like it was the howard stern show. He's a drug addict and needs major help

  • @geoff101001 Artie is amazing. To be as funny as he was thru all the shit he was doing is incredible. Pure raw talent.

  • Artie sounds whacked out

  • That fat diego has it so good, but he threw his career down the drain for heroin because of low self estem... Bring back Jackie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ever since Howard made the threat to end his career, he won't shut up about it.

  • All the people who say they hate the show now still seem to know what's going on with the show on a daily basis. It's like the man said in the great film Private Parts, and I'm paraphrasing, "the people who reported they hate Stern listen for a higher hourly average than the people who reported they love him, answer most commonly given... I want to see what he'll say next."

  • He sounds really defeated.

  • The show fucking sucks since he left.... I dont even like Artie that much, but fuckface Howard has refused to put someone in his chair. The show needs another voice.

  • Yeah this is eerie... Sad... I miss Artie so much! I stopped listening after he left, part coincidence, partly because after they revealed what happened, I just felt sick.

  • @KCArmstrongXIV Don't forget Howard talking about Beth and the Hamptons. I almost puked today when Howard kept going on about how Beth was on the cover of Hamptons Magazine and how hot she looked. Shit... Howard's appeal was being the henpecked, pussywhipped husband. Once he divorced Alison and got his trophy girlfriend, the show went to hell. I can't stand listening to the show - it's all Howard and Robin gabbing.

  • yeah that was crazy.howard knew artie couldnt handle it anymore

  • Artie looked that bad for a while. How the fuck was anyone surprised?

  • he sounds out of gas....

  • He sounds drunk or burntout really bad. You can hear the sadness. Listen for it.

  • artie was dying slowly for years,,,,

  • @jimmyl324 everyone is

  • Jesus! Artie! I miss you!

  • aw poor artie. you can hear the exhaustion

  • @dsgrntld04 No thats just the heroin talking.

  • Even Artie's voice is burnt out. Wow, very eerie indeed.

  • so this was 1 month ago?

  • @theriftable no! it was in 09

  • fucked up

  • sad day..he seems fine..hope hes ok

  • Death was in the room.

  • This is pretty eerie.
