I stumbled upon this video whilst looking for another one of his great songs "Caledonia" it makes me proud to be scottish when such a simple tune can pull at your heart strings and long to return to Scotland.

Lovely. I was watching a film about Estonian composer Arvo Part recently and he said someone told him a composer must love every note. The first thing that struck me about this version of Fear a Bhata is the great love with which the fiddle player plays the music. It is as if she cherishes and truly loves every note. Thank you.

I think the man playing the accordian MUST be Dougie's father. The resemblence is uncanny. Looks just like him, only older. Beautiful music. I came across Dougie's music by accident and listen to nothing else now.
@teluvinas No, that'd be me! :) Love this video, though. All three musicians are so lost in the music, it's like they're never coming back. Absolute magic.
Thanks for uploading this lovely, relaxing piece. I am heading up to Pitlochry and Perth for Dougie MacLean's "Perthshire Amber Festival" this October/November with two of my sons who can play guitar, so I'm hoping they get to jam with Dougie at some stage.
its played like a funeral dirge......too plodding and funereal
