Our whole life consists of brick in the wall. We trust, and are lied to. We love, and are broken. Our educational system places bricks in the wall. Our media places bricks in the wall. In the end, we have a mighty fortress built around ourselves, and no one can get in. Life is a cruel and lonely place.
LMFAO 3:38 he sings the line"would you like something to eat?" and they show him throwing the cart of food at her, haha talk about a literal interpretation lol
This is the freaky part when the shadow of the woman becomes an animated creature. It also what makes this flick so good I think is the transformation of live characters becoming animated. It takes both great talent and such skill to do such great piece of work.
@polskapower0 You can see storyline from Wikipedia, so it is useless for me to narrate about it.
The symbolism is simple and actually more about basic feelings, but when combined, makes still complex story. From 3:05 to 4:43 is obviously anger and frustration. After that section he is screaming at silent city of night, which (could) resembles that Pink's anger is ignored and life is still the same. He starts to feel lonely and falls into psychosis while memories flash by.
@polskapower0 You see world crumbling down and rising, all the money, poverty, hate and love. You are living in insane roller coaster of life; you cant escape and it drives you insane, but more horrendous, nobody seems to care, because all they do is watch TV and kill others, whom they don't even know. You want to rest even for a moment, but it is not possible, because careless and cold world drags you always back to the reality. This movie is about madness of others and the victim is mr. Pink.
Hmm... Ok so i havent exactly explored pink floyds twisted idea of this movie sooo... Super explanation of symbolism PLEASE... polish or english which ever... Preferably english
that poor guy...... he was so hurt by her leaving him it caused him to go further into insanity.... this movie has a huge meaning to it.... never take the ones you love for granted
The blood on the part where he cuts his hand is very real for anyone who has not read the story behind this. He actually cut his hand there and they left it in the movie.
But no, she is not his wife, actually all three of them - a girl in the window, his wife and this "groupie" - they look alike very much. Reddish hair, very skinny, facial features are very similar... I wonder... no, actually, I am pretty sure, it is one of the Roger's tricks.
He did beat his wife, and he didn't. Depends on how u look at it. If you watch the movie, she cheats on Pink (he finds this out at the end of Young Lust on the album and before Empty Spaces in the movie during a phone call) and he might just want revenge and thats what he wants to do and that is what I think.
well, if was beating her, cheating on him wouldn't exactly be the best thing for her situation. Most women cheat due to lack of attention, emotionally or sexually, which Pink is explicitly shown doing. Shown showing lack of attention, that is
Yes I know, he didn't beat her. he just was really insane at the point in the wall when he sings this song. He is on the brink of depression. and he is now very angry.
@kellyismyrealname Well, he's going through the stages of full insanity. "Goodbye Cruel World" is where he finally becomes behind a wall as fully classified as "Insane"
lol yeah I know, I forgot at the end of Young Lust on the album, Pink calls his wife and is hung up on by the man Pink's wife is cheating on him with. He then runs into his trailer where a groupie follows him in and then... yeah lol
2 questions. Why is pink always watching that movie? And what is it called?

Quick question, is that supposed to be Pink's old wife or just a groupie who likes him? that would finish off the story of The Wall for me, thanks.
