1 of the things that made this comedy so great and funny was just the way the laughs were presented,in most comedies nowadays for example the viewer is hinted that a joke had just happened by some facial reaction of a character or in worse cases a canned laugh but many of the very clever and yet hilarious jokes in naked gun were presented just like an every day convo ,making it all more believable.

it's all thanks to Leslie Neilsen and David Zucker, both of them believed that they needed to play the roles as serious even though the actions and dialogue is funny and satirical, the character need to believe they are not being funny but serious and there lies the gold that makes the comedy the best.
