Well I'm in Chicago, we don't have the "sniffer" or mirror tests to pass emissions, so thus far, as long as with the o2 sims, no CEL code= pass emissions. in Cali I believe the tests are stricter so if you run my setup in Cali (this is my old setup by the way), you'll need to put the oem cats back on prior to testing.
@TofuProductionCinema Mind if I ask where? You can PM me if you want. I'm up north, near Lake Zurich... Buffalo Grove, Mundelein, if you've heard of it.
i like the way the nismo sounds, some people may call it "ricey" but i like it, im runnin the hks true dual hi-power with megan v2 resonated test pipes. check out my vid and comment if ya like.
To each their own I suppose, the nismo just amplifies the stock exhaust and provides a deeper tone so in my opinion uniless if you think the g35 sounds ricey stock- then I guess, but I love the way my exhaust sounds so as long as I'm the one driving it, it's no big deal to me :)
Your HKS sounds great man, I would opt for it but asthetic-wise it wasn't my taste. Try combining your HKS with the motordyne ART pipes :)
@TofuProductionCinema Yea i really like the stock sound but i wanted more air flow and i really like the way the hks sounds, i wanna find someone on here with the ART pipes and the hks. Thanks again bro!
You're welcome man. Keep up the good work and keep me posted if you have any updates on your coupe. I should have an update or two the moment some warm weather comes around here in Chicago.
@88DriftKid88 It is far from ricey. All nismo or TRD or any OEM based brands do is just amplify the orginal sound of the engine. That's my kinda of style. I don't want to loose that signature gurgling vq sound that no other v6 makes.
Yes, the silver one is mine and it is 5at, as is the white one. Had a 6mt (04) a few years ago and currently this silver on is going to be up for sale in due time.
I just got rid of my evo and want to be out of the racing scene so I want something with more luxury and less childish (no offense). So do you recommend the auto or manual on the G?
Manual. This one is auto, my old one was an 04 brembo (6mt). Either one is fine but if you want more 'fun' the manual is, but here in winter with daily commute, I find the auto more practical for myself. It's all personal choice but you won't be disappointed either way my good sir, it's still fun and definitely a looker, the design of the vehicle will not get old for a long long time. Check out G35driver(dot)com.
Damn I miss good old days when you're just chillin with the guys in an emtpy parkingstructure photoshooting and talking about stuff. But anyways, I think your car sounded absolutely sick, thats how the G35 should sound in my ears to really bring out that intense V6. If you don't mind me asking, what car are you moving on to after you've sold the G?
Haha I agree, those were the good old days! I don't do it as much anymore- photoshoots yes but car stuff not as much anymore. And thank you my good sir, I plan either Jaguar XF s/c or the Porsche Panamera. We shall see in due time as I don't plan to rid the car until maybe spring or summer of 2011. I do like the new m3's (coupes and sedans) but I have just been leaning more towards the XF and Pan for quite some time now. Thank you again my good sir for the compliments!
Unforunately this one is auto, my old one (black on black 04 brembo) was 6 speed. My car is actually up for sale very soon as I'm moving onto bigger and better things.
@TofuProductionCinema what was wrong with old one (the black one)? also very nice i've had my eye on a 03 black 6 speed g35 with the wing and brembo brakes
Nothing really, I was young at the time, spent all most of the money I put into it on a greddy twin kit, in the end the cost of modding it surpassed what I could afford for insurance at the time. I didn't go that route this time since I wanted a fully built motor. But times have changed again as well and I'm moving onto bigger and better things in due time. I'd be careful with 03, they are somewhat prone to a few issues. I'd opt for an 04, take care of it, it'll take care of you!
Actually I do agree with you, I took my test pipes off not long ago along with demodding the entire car minus the suspension/wheels/front lip, and a few other goodies. I at first liked it because it was loud and very pronounced but I'm more into subtly now with sound. Just the nismo itself right now is perfect for me.
Sweet love it. Being you have it already and sure sent people off to get one. Im looking for the Nisimo Exhaust for my coupe .. can you tell me where is the best place to get one. as in reliable pricing etc..
My God your g35 sounds absolutely AMAZING that is what im looking for if you could take some time and send me a message on what you bought. Im looking for a 03 04 as well as dknydknydkny possibly a 05 or 06 whatever i can get my hands on!
Thank you, the car has since then been demodded. I have other videos of my exhaust setup as well as a list of modifications in there that I have done- last I checked it was still up. Do not get an 03, bunch of issues with them from what I've heard. I used to have an 04 6mt w/brembos and it was a good car.
i no this isn't related to much, but i'm thinking about getting a g35 sedan. i cant decide if i want a g35 or a g35x. i live in canada as well and the awd would be better. wondering if you could help me with this. btw sick cars!
Im looking in buying a G35 ... I have about 15k so im guessing I can find something like a 2003 or 2004...i live in cananda and alot of G35 drivers do drive in the winter. Is the G35 an all around good car or would I come across a lot of problems. I do understand that it all depends on which car it is that I buy, yet from your experience do you come across any problems with the transmission or engine?
you'll be fine in the winter, just get some good winter tires/wheels, I recommend Blizzaks. Also engine and trans you're fine but if you get the revup- (05up) which is the manual trans, some of them have oil consumption issues. Not all, but it's a personal choice. Good luck! I'm looking to sell mine very soon, looking to upgrade as well as get a 4 door :). Best of luck to you.
@dknydknydkny I got one here in Saskatchewan, just bought it this year. If you take off the vehicle stability its fun as hell to drive on snow with all season tires. I got the 6spd. The manual trans seems to have a hard time going into first, my guess is syncros are weak on these or the previous owner bagged the heck out of it. Its too low though, so I'm driving a winter beater.
message me and we can discuss it there, throw me a fair offer, shipping it isn't going to be fun considering I'm assuming you're not local in Chicago.
my garage is where I installed it, yes it was bought online.
since then I have demodded my car. I'm running close to stock numbers again sine I took a lot of my motor mods out. I'm looking at a four door within a year or so. Just got out of the car scene lately. Nothing impresses me much anymore.
Nice. I recommend and 06 (like mine) or up. They have projectors, better looking tail lights (in my opinion) and if you get the 6mt, less oil consumption issues. Only plus side of an 03-04 g35 coupe that is 6mt is the brembo brakes, but even the standard brakes on a 06-07 coupe is pretty decent. If you want the brembos, get 04. The 03's are problematic.
His is an 04 I believe, but he recently put in 06 headlights. And has since then installed a K2 front bumper and changed his shocks to Koni adjustables I believe.
@TofuProductionCinema oh ok. like i said man i am really trying to get one, but all the ones i see not that expensive are sedans or auto... and i cant stand either. lol
lol yeah, mine is actually auto, I used to have an 04 6mt. But I don't know. I want to get rid of my G in due time. I need/want a 4 door, most of my life all I've owned is coupes. I've been looking later on to get a Porsche Panamera or Jaguar XJ sedan.
It's either the XF or the Panamera for me.. but it also depends if I choose to purchase a house or rent an apartment, obviously the wiser choice is to own a house however that comes into play depending on how my career goes within the next few months. Work lately has me so busy which is good money-wise but I have no time to relax!
They are forged Ro_Ja r2-7's. Predecessor to the Gram Lights 57 pros.
Made by Rays Wheels, they are discontinued, but a lot of knock off versions of my wheels are out there (such as MSR), but they don't offer the fitment or color finish to that of mine.
this video makes it seem like the nismo is louder than the fast intentions.. is this just because of higher reving and louder test pipes? i'm trying to find the quietest possible exhaust setup for my g35 coupe.

I'm actually looking to sell mine pretty soon, so if you are in the market it's in mint condition, just shoot me a message on here via on my homepage or email me: tofuproductions@gmail
dude im gettin the same car but black exterior and black interior and black rims wiht like only 38k miles on it for 19g.i am so excited!!!how much u pay for you car dude
Mine is an 06 and I purchased it with 22k on the odometer, at just shy of 40k on the odometer I had a new motor put in so now I currently have just shy of 8k on the motor. ;) I work next to Inifiniti so I know all the guys there like family so I got a real good deal on my vehicle. Congrats on your future purchase! They're great cars in my opinion.
Wow I just love the sound of your car bro. Just out of curiosity, what kind of a rear spoiler do you have on your car. And where can I find something like that cuz the dealership wants $500 for their stock spoiler.
Thank you my good sir, do you have a g35 coupe as well? if so, let me know and I'll refer you to the place where I got mine (it came painted and shipped at half the cost, and has had no issue with it since installation).
I'll message you the link to that spoiler, as far as exhaust tone, it's all personal preference, personally I love the sound of mine since it gives off an exotic tone. But also I have a few motor mods since then so I don't know if that aids that much in the sound preference as well. I also went with my current exhaust setup since I don't like big exhausts and mine offers the look of a stock exhaust while providing a tone that definitely doesn't sound stock :) . Clean is the way to go.
I was thinking about it, but I have some new tail lights ;) that are on now, and I don't know how it'd look good blacked out. Plus I don't want to mod the exterior all too much. Stay tuned for this spring ;) a new video will be up!
thank you, his fast intentions exhaust sounds good too, he has high flow cats too and overall it produces a quiet but very deep rumble.. like a supertuned exhaust of some sort!
I have a ? for anyone who knows about under a g35 will a blue tip muffler with a stock exhaust make a deep good noise or no. send back too me ANYONE or what is the best thing to do to make a deep good noise thanks
Honestly, if you stuck an audio clip of that exhaust with another vehicle such as a Civic, you would get typical ricer comments. I think it's just the car itself that is making people go nuts for the exhaust tone. If you do a blind test and just listen to the sound without knowing that it is a g35, it's either love or hate.
sadly, this is true for a lot of exhaust clips. a clip of a lambo with aftermarket exhaust is "beautiful", but close your eyes and imagine civics and its "rice"
u guys definetly dont know about nismo exhausts sounds they are the best. obviously the cam is makin it distorted but who am i kidding we're talking about dumbass that dont know about cars. but the dude wit the g35 wit the nismo set up good shit! NISMO ROCKS!!!!
Just installed Berk HFC on my nismo. Holy crap did it wake the thing up! Pulls much harder too. Very similar to yours...before/after video will be posted this week :D
shitt.. i have the same exhaust.. shit the megan test pipes really sound nice with nismo.. u got any more vids? like vids not from inside the parking lot
You're a complete idiot. Who speeds in a parking garage. The purpose of these videos is to show how they sound, not how fast a car is going, if it was boost or some true performance mod, then maybe.
"we" means you, in this case. everyone else commented about the sound of my car, now how fast I was going. roflcopter.
Its soooo hard to find a g35 6spd,nice cars by the way

Mine is an 06 and I purchased it with 22k on the odometer, at just shy of 40k on the odometer I had a new motor put in so now I currently have just shy of 8k on the motor. ;) I work next to Inifiniti so I know all the guys there like family so I got a real good deal on my vehicle. Congrats on your future purchase! They're great cars in my opinion.

19's. thanks man. :) changes will be made by spring of this year.

Wow I just love the sound of your car bro. Just out of curiosity, what kind of a rear spoiler do you have on your car. And where can I find something like that cuz the dealership wants $500 for their stock spoiler.
Icedearth23 2 years ago
Thank you my good sir, do you have a g35 coupe as well? if so, let me know and I'll refer you to the place where I got mine (it came painted and shipped at half the cost, and has had no issue with it since installation).
TofuProductionCinema 2 years ago
Yes I just purchased an 06 coupe. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you much
Icedearth23 2 years ago
sure what kind of help do you need? (Aside from the spoiler question)
TofuProductionCinema 2 years ago
Well the spoiler that you have I really like. Also, I don't know which exhaust to purchase that would give me that "M5" sound.
Icedearth23 2 years ago
I'll message you the link to that spoiler, as far as exhaust tone, it's all personal preference, personally I love the sound of mine since it gives off an exotic tone. But also I have a few motor mods since then so I don't know if that aids that much in the sound preference as well. I also went with my current exhaust setup since I don't like big exhausts and mine offers the look of a stock exhaust while providing a tone that definitely doesn't sound stock :) . Clean is the way to go.

@TofuProductionCinema you should black-out your tail lights, it would look exceptional!
triniplaybwoii 2 years ago
I was thinking about it, but I have some new tail lights ;) that are on now, and I don't know how it'd look good blacked out. Plus I don't want to mod the exterior all too much. Stay tuned for this spring ;) a new video will be up!

danc989 2 years ago 3
On the white G it's stock 19in Rays, mine are discontinued 19in Ro_Ja r2-7's. They are the prredecessor to Gram Lights 57s.

Nice G35's. I need to see your ride sometime. Sounds awesome.
adrianekkpl 2 years ago 4
Honestly, if you stuck an audio clip of that exhaust with another vehicle such as a Civic, you would get typical ricer comments. I think it's just the car itself that is making people go nuts for the exhaust tone. If you do a blind test and just listen to the sound without knowing that it is a g35, it's either love or hate.
AznbMx3r716 2 years ago
sadly, this is true for a lot of exhaust clips. a clip of a lambo with aftermarket exhaust is "beautiful", but close your eyes and imagine civics and its "rice"

what a gay. drive it on a bit kid. we wanna see speed not hear it.
cashykid 2 years ago
You're a complete idiot. Who speeds in a parking garage. The purpose of these videos is to show how they sound, not how fast a car is going, if it was boost or some true performance mod, then maybe.
"we" means you, in this case. everyone else commented about the sound of my car, now how fast I was going. roflcopter.

finally it sounds like a proper Man's car lol
