I enjoyed on the episode´s that valve did´nt make Alyx to protect and to annoy you when she´s always at the line of fire and can´t cover and dies all the time, but to keep you company and cheer you up.
Sure she can shoot,but what i mean she´s not slowing you down or getting into the way or ruining the game experience, but to expand it and building an friend to lean into when everything else falls apart

@MarshmallowRadiation Valve wants it to feel like its you that is gordon freeman, Thats why he never speaks. In otherwords it would kind of ruin the whole you experience if you saw yourself in a trailer.
hl2 is coolest single player game ever! only mafia was so good that i remember everything from it and mafia 2 will be awesome too. but what about hl2 episode 3 :D that will be the best part of half life ..i guess

You play as Gordon, but you have Alyx practically stapled to you throughout the whole episode.
