I know exactly what you mean by being underestimated as a woman. I was a mechanic in the Navy, same thing happened to me. And I have to say one of my favorite compliments that I have ever recieved is when a female chief congratulated me on choosing to be the type of female in the military who didn't just crawl out of bed and put my hair in a bun and throw my uniform on, I took pride in my job and wanted to look proper in my uniform. @JRV95 I think back to the stories of post pearl harbor. The offices were flooded with men ready to fight not knowing how long the war would last. None of them did it for the money. They did it for pride and love of their counrty.

Being in the military has always had it's advantages, despite the honor it brought. It takes tremendous amounts of emotions to bring people together. During WWII, it was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. For The War Against Terror, it was 9/11.

Hey Dulce...I know its been a while since you posted this video and Im not sure if you know about it but if you can still get on your AKO account or use your husbands AKO you can put in info and find your friend Willis my husband does it all the time to find his friends from pervious units and some from boot camp. My sister did the same! Hope this helps!

The M16 and The M4 both shoot the same round 5.56 x 45 NATO they both pack a big punch the M4 is given to most male soldiers too. Grreat video. Thank You for your service.

@JRV95 I think back to the stories of post pearl harbor. The offices were flooded with men ready to fight not knowing how long the war would last. None of them did it for the money. They did it for pride and love of their counrty.
My statement was simply an observation. I thought is was sad that none of her reasons stated were for love of country. I did not even make a personal attack on her. Not my fault you are to simple to understand what is being said.

Being in the military has always had it's advantages, despite the honor it brought. It takes tremendous amounts of emotions to bring people together. During WWII, it was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. For The War Against Terror, it was 9/11.

Sure, the reasons that she said might have been just for the money. But her personality shows otherwise. Perhaps she just assumed that most people knew that most soldiers who join do it for the sheer patriotism. Just because she didn't say it, it doesn't mean that she didn't feel it.
It's an obvious reason to join the military. Everyone knows it.
