It is true that merch and touring accounts for a percentage of their income but it's not the majority share -- so I would refrain from calling people idiots when you yourself are clearly not knowledgable on the subject.

ok ppl who say that GC stole Rhianna's tune: If you actually listen the only part that is really similar is the first part going up the scale. Rhianna's melody goes up then back down, while GC's goes up & continues the same up pattern. Rhianna's melody is an ostinato ( a motif or phrase which is persistently repeated in the same musical voice) and GC's a sequence (the immediate restatement of a motif or passage at a higher or lower pitch in the same voice) So GC didn't really steal anything

That's just how it is. :p the ratio of what they make from the song vs. what they make from touring is a huge difference and the record sales don't really even compete.
