    --Betty :)

  • Looks splendid!, Could you please tell me which gas mark to put it on?

Im not that great with cooking so im not sure :/

    Thank you kindly!

  • @sharpshootertrigga I don't have a gas oven, but this casserole should be baked at medium heat.

    --Betty :)

  • betty, I am making a lot of your things, but always get confuse when you say, " put it on Low heat" and every time I do that I have feeling like it is going to take two days to get done. I always put on higher heat, is that ok, to put it on gigh heat if you want that to get done faster.

  • @male11nov Yes, you may use higher heat--just watch it carefully, and you need to do more stirring.

    --Betty :)

  • Do u have to add the flour?

  • @xxSalma1964xx No, it is not necessary.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen after its cooked, the fries are limp, but are they crispy?

  • @smil3you Yes, they are crispy.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty tell me your secret to staying so fit while your making all these cheesy food. Anyways good recipe. Love all you vegetarian friendly videos.

  • @Alice5Wonderland I only eat small portions of anything with lots of calories. My diet is generally egg whites, tuna, broiled chicken, and lots of fruits & vegetables--very little rice, pasta, potatoes, bread, anything filled with fat, or desserts! I will be having some vegetarian-friendly recipes soon!!!

    --Betty :)

  • Can I cut my own fries from potatoes?

  • @neomysterio Yes, you may use fresh potatoes. I would boil them until they are about halfway done, because the frozen fries are precooked.

    --Betty :)

  • betty good luck for your 1000th video!

  • @chelseyamandaS It is *great* with chili on it. I may have a Chili Cheese Fries in bettyskitchen.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty I believe they are referring to the kitchen chopper, at one point in the video you said kitchen grater.

  • @Latekapark Thanks, I think you are correct!

    --Betty :)

  • Betts, where you did you get that Kitchen Grater? is that how its spelled?

    LOVE THESE VIDS

    SDP

  • @satandeathpenis666 I don't believe I used a grater in this video--everything was pre-shredded that I used.

    --Betty :)

  • @satandeathpenis666 The electric kitchen chopper is something you can pick up a store like Wal-mart; also department stores, home-improvement stores, and groceries stores sometimes have them.

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • @iluvsabu Yes, use any kind of French fries.

    --Betty :)

  • i like crunchy cheese fries so i just bake em then shred cheese on em.

  • my girl..

  • Betty's pretty hot.

  • Ok, did try this recipe but I had to use Cheddar Jack instead. It was yummy, and a big kid-pleaser, but it was still rather bland for my taste. Tasted like it needed some salt, and something else i can't pinpoint to really bring out some flavor.... maybe hot sauce? ;) Not quite sure. I'll play with it.

  • @hollybee43 Maybe add a little salt, also some hot sauce or finely diced jalapeno peppers.

    --Betty :)

  • I'm trying this right now!!! :D

  • Hey Betty i like your recipes!! I like your voice to. God i feel hungry.

    Yes nice recipes. Carlito

  • Can I come visit you for dinner? You're food is amazing! We don't have any of this stuff in the UK!

  • can you do it without onions?

  • @xe1881 Yes! It does not need the onions at all to be a delicious casserole.

    --Betty :)

  • r u from texas i want to know plz and yo casarole l(oo)ks good

  • wow shes so cute :)

  • Can we deep-fry those beautiful fries?

  • how old are you

  • How the hell does Betty have a body like THAT eating food like THIS?!?!?!

  • @nauort23 I eat anything I want--just in small portions (and I am very disciplined...). Thanks for the compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • I am so making this for the weekend, going to add some bacon to it tho!.. ummm cheese fries..

  • you make alot of junk food...looks good though. :P

  • Pixie Crinkles

  • Hi was just thinking what if you would so fresh chopped jalapenos to the cheese sauce? do you serve this as a side dish or main dish?

  • @criminalxxxlove I serve it as a side dish. Fresh chopped jalapenos sound great added to the cheese sauce!

    --Betty :)

  • It was going so well until you introduced cornflakes. Wouldn't that make the topping rather sweet to taste? I'm guessing breadcrumbs would work better, no? Thanks as always for these videos. :)

  • @piehunt I don't find the cornflakes sweet in this dish, but substituting bread crumbs would be fine!

    --Betty :)

  • can we do it without parsley???

  • @damntime1 Certainly! Parsley is only a minor ingredient of the casserole.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty,

Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I love your narration. I am totally blind, so your excellent description gives me confidence I can make this recipe. I can't wait to try this. I can tell you really love cooking and doing these videos. Have a great day.

    Musically,

    Allison

  • @mrissamusica i don't want to be mean but if you was blind how can you type?

  • Betty Betty Betty luv u

  • Ummm this looks really good great job Mrs. Betty!

  • wow the USA has the best chips in the world.

Australia is going to go crazy once the word gets around that cheese goes well with fries!

  • also would be really good with bacon bits!!

  • This brings back memories of my time in the US, Betty you must try 'Poutine' (Fries with Cheese curds and gravy)

  • Betty, you're gorgeous! Really pretty woman. Great dish too.

  • I dont understand why people don't like raw onions in food.

  • Betty you are smokin hot.

  • Hey Auntie Betty! Whoa this is so good but I am the only one in the family that love cheese and I'm an asian. But I'll try this one day. (I'm 12)

  • All your food looks lovely! I all seems a bit fattening though, how do you stay so slim?

  • i can imagine this with green peas and some seasonal fruit on the side...and a big cold glass of coca cola:)

  • hey betty this looks tasty but why do we nid to add flour?

  • @cosinaviosa Hi! The flour is to thicken the white sauce, to which the cheese is added.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, you are the nicest person on Youtbe. Thanks for showing all of out here in Youtube land how to make all these yummy meals!

  • @LoLProdos lol... they do sound yummy

  • do u have to put parsley in it or is it optional?

  • @666xmaggotx The parsley is optional. The casserole will be great without it, too!

    --Betty :)

  • i swear these kind of videos to watch is like torture. i want some.

  • mmmm :)

  • this looks so good and cheesy! i like how you show the final product in the end and its still sizzling. so yummy!

  • Hey Betty!

Just wondering, why is your cheese orange? Do you ever buy organic?

    Thanks!

  • oh my god.yummy

  • im going to do it too and im going to get bacon bits and put them on top that will taste pretty good.thx betty!

  • I substituted the corn flakes with bacon bits but great recipe u have to trust a woman with a country accent

  • excellent idea

  • Hey, i was wondering if you could like deep fry the chips (australian for fries lol) and make the sause seprate then just pour it over the chips and eat like that???

  • Hi,

Can I skip the topping, onion & parsley? I would like a plain cheese fries.

    Thanks Betty.

  • @stackmeup Yes, skip them--They are not necessary, and the plain cheese fries will be great!

    --Betty :)

  • Totally LOVE your accent :D

  • i love her country accent im from georgia!!!

  • Very nicely demonstrated recipe. i am gonna try this today hope I will make this recipe perfectly.

  • betty, is the sauce suppose to turn out like mashpotatoes,

    cause mine did like everytime

  • The sauce should be just like a normal cheese sauce--It shouldn't be as thick as mashed potatoes. You can add some milk to thin it, if you need. Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • I might try this out tomarrow. It will be my first time so it may not look as good as this one.

  • Hi!

I hope your Cheese Fries Casserole came out great! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • betty your dishes are amazing:) my mum cant even turn a comp on but since i showed her this she has learnt and watches you all the time:)!!!can you re freeze this also?x

  • Thanks for your lovely comment. Yes, you may freeze your leftovers. Just put it in a smaller container, and let it thaw out before heating it. I would probably heat it in an aluminum foil lined baking dish, just until it's heated through. It will be just as good the second time around!

    --Betty :)

  • i Love it! --"the distance around them is less" you are such the mathematician" lol wonderful recipes keep it up

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! You can't take the "math" out of mathematician!

    --Betty :)

  • you are awsome!!!!!

  • Thanks for your wonderful compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • Does this dish reheat well? I know that fries do not reheat well in the microwave.

  • We reheated it, and it was great. I put aluminum foil inside a smaller casserole dish, so I wouldn't have the empty part of the large casserole dish getting blackened. Then I closed the aluminum foil over the leftover fries casserole and let it bake at 350 for long enough for it to get hot through. I then opened up the aluminum foil to let the top crisp up a bit. I hope this helps!

    --Betty :)

  • would this be the main dish or would you have like salad or something with it?

  • It could be the main dish. If you need to stretch it, then serve a salad on the side. It's nice and hearty on its own, though.

    --Betty :)

  • made this today! it was delicious! used cracker instead of cereal, and it was yummy! thanks betty!

  • Thanks for the wonderful feedback! Cracker crumbs for the top are great! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, is it ok if i use potato (will cut like fries size) instead of fries?

  • Yes, fresh potatoes will be fine. You will need to partially cook them before adding them to the casserole!

    --Betty :)

  • Did u mean i need to boil it first?

  • You can boil them or fry them in a little oil, until they soften a bit.

    --Betty :)

  • Bacon bits on top would be good.

  • Yes, several people think bacon would be a good addition--and I do, too! Thanks for the great tip!

    --Betty :)

  • Yummy! Betty you are going to make me gain weight from cooking your recipes. Don't you know how to crochet or knit and show us that :-)

I think you should think about showing us how to preserve our herbs for the winter. You are starting to remind me of Martha Stewart (minus the jail term of course). I still love Martha no matter what though.

I pray that you get your own cooking show from puting out these You Tube videos.

    Much love to you Betty.

  • Thanks for your sweet comment! I hope you enjoy the cheese fries casserole! I thought about drying herbs, but this year I just froze my chives and parsley, and the rest I put in the refrigerator to use until they are no longer fresh enough--so, I don't have much to work with! Thanks for your request and your confidence in my work (hobby)!

    --Betty :)

  • omg i watched so far 2 of ur videos and loved each one and im going to try them all keep just the great cooking!

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I appreciate it so much!

    --Betty :)
