  • THANK YOU, YOUTUBE! I LISTENED TO THIS BACK IN '67 AT COMPTON HIGH (GLEN G. IF YOU WENT TO CPT HI, THEN YOU KNOW ME!). IT IS GREAT. ALL JAZZ AFICIONADOS SHOULD KNOW THIS BY MR. LLOYD!

  • @1GlenAlan Yessir!! You're really privalaged to have heard it new! I only got to know this as classic jazz...

  • Guitarist Gabor so nice.

  • @abachanable Gabor is one of the finest underrated jazz guitarists! He originally did "Breezin'" long before George Benson!!!

  • i wish i could find the Michael Carvin version still awesome though

  • the homeboy's dad brought me here.

  • BRING IT ON

  • NOW BAC WHEN I DID GRASS THIS WAS MY CUT AND STILL IS

  • @356vincent

Yeah, Vinnie, I remember those grassy days. I used to smoke back then and listen to this on my box. However, too old 2 smoke now.

  • @1GlenAlan I'm sure these guys smoked they're share of grass!!

  • THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS I NEED THE REST OF IT

  • @356vincent Ask and ye shall recieve!! Give me a minute though, making these things are slightly time-consuming, something I have very little of right now!

  • THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS

  • Thanks for posting this song - one of my all time favs!

  • @CheckMate657879 Mine too! Don't mention it!!

  • smoothe and sweet... reminds me of an old boyfriend...

  • @equueen Lovely!!

  • @equueen

I hear that..but time to move on...just kiddin' you! lol

  • i wish somebody could post the live version ..

  • @blkwuud It looks like there's a new copyright option for loading stuff now. I have a direct transfer of the live '66 version with the Charles Lloyd Quartet from Lp, I may try and load it and see what happens! I'll let you know!!

  • @Funkyfreshboy2000 did you find it? i do have the cd but i dont know how to upload to youtube

  • Its got lyrics too, I used to sing this...can't remember who wrote them, but they are lovely

  • @jasminetea69 Make a video and sing them for us!! I've never heard a vocal version and can't seem to find a vocal version anywhere! Enlighten us!!

  • anyone know who this guitarist is?

  • @JFruscianteGod2 Gabor Szabo on amplified acoustic guitar!

  • Didn't Charles record "Forest Flower" first with Cannonball Adderly?

  • @PeluMaad I don't think so. If he did, I'm not aware of it, but I'd like to hear it if it exists!!

  • @PeluMaad I did a little research, Wikipedia says Lloyd played with Cannonball after he left Chico Hamilton's group. He was with Chico from '60-'64 and those were the first jazz records he made, before that he was with B.B King and Bobby "Blue" Bland, so this indeed would be the first recorded version with Chico!

  • @Funkyfreshboy2000 ...nice work! Thanks from this stinky stale old guy.

  • @PeluMaad Ah, just a little Wiki research!!

  • ahhh,the original

  • @Funkyfreshboy2000 thanks for the info---take care

  • @EMCEMITCH Thanks, you too! Oh by the way, that's Gabor Szabo on guitar!

  • wheres the version when they went to russia and keith jarrett explodes on piano---although this is a cool rendition id rather hear keiths licks instead of this guitarist as good as he is

  • @EMCEMITCH There's I think about five recorded versions of this tune, this being the first. The only two with Jarrett were on the albums "Forest Flower" (1966) and "Soundtrack" (1969) I think your referring to the latter, recorded live in Russia. I've heard all the versions and they are all great in their own way, I just noticed this version wasn't available on youtube at the time, so I thought I'd post it!

  • Fabulous!!

  • I bought the album "A Man From Two Worlds"with this track on it back in the early 60's,still one of my favorites.

  • @RayO9954 This is a direct digital transfer from an original mono LP pressing of "The Man From Two Worlds"!

  • great tune thanks for posting

Forest flower still one one of my favourite albums

  • Just 242 views``` Tenor saxman Charles Lloyd and drummer Chico Hamilton's group earliest version of this classic recording, which Charles AS LEADER would later record at the Monterrey Jazz Festival with Keith Jarrett on piano...I love both recording !

  • Excellence

  • @mrobertson70 Most certainly!!!
