I would love to see a video on how to make a basic wood hand plane from one piece of wood.

Very handy indeed-I've been trying to adjust my great grandfather's coffin smoothing plane,and have figured a few things out by trial and error but,as it's at least a hundred years old with a large open crack on one side of the mouth,I'm a little nervous about getting too carried away.These clips make it all so reassuringly simple-thanks Philly!

I don't think it could be described in any more simplicity without starting to gloss over details.

I've been wondering how to do this on the couple of wooden planes I've just got from the widow of a late cabinetmaker.

Thank you very much for this info. I have some woodplanes from my late grandfather, and it always took me ages to get them adjusted. I hope I will do better with this info, I'm off now to try it right away.
