"I need maintenance I need patience I'm not foolproof I'm not waterproof I'm not shockproof Bombproof Bulletproof Fireproof Leakproof Childproof Stainproof Pressureproof" Oh my...HOW MUCH I love this band!!!
An utterly fantastic tune from "Anorak". Another amazing transition from the primary seed that eventually flowers into something absolutely beautiful. Only Marillion can do something like this! As with many Marillion tunes, ALL band members shine here.
I bought Anoraknophobia when it came out. It constantly grew on me, but lately it ìs getting very close to being my favourite Marillion album! "This is the 21st Century" is another beautiful song.
Marillion are the best and sometimes it takes a few plays to find the tracks that fire the imagination. Like all music of quality you have to listen to it many times to discover its true value. Much like a masterpiece in the art world. Anoraknophobia is my favourite album. It would be nice for someone to post Seperated Out on here as that song is a true classic in all senses of the word.
Big up to all Marillion fans and all those who do a great job like this and post their music for all to hear

No thanks, ibitron1. I can't stand the screech of Ms. Spears. Not a big fan of pop in general. And maybe some would consider the members master musicians, but I don't hear it. I'm sure they have talent, it's just not the kind of music I like.
I'm good with Nightwish and Within Temptation. They beat Marillion any day of the week, in my humble opinion. Still, I'm sure Marillion appreciates your valiant attempt to defend them with such witty commentary.
lol, your an idiot marrillion has been around for years. that singer is steve hogarth, who has an amazing range and each member is a master musician you fucking moron.

If that was directed at me, I honestly don't care who the singer is or how long they've been around. This was my first time listening to the group and I gave my opinion. I don't care for their work.
Since you want to be childish enough to insult my intelligence, let's look at your English skills, shall we? It's "you're," not "your," you didn't capitalize proper nouns (Steve Hogarth and Marillion), and there's a lack of commas where they should be. Put one after idiot and master musician.
Valid points, my friend. Many groups just have that one song you don't care for, and switching out singers isn't that uncommon; Nightwish did that not too long ago.
I'll keep that all in mind next time I look into their work.
Afraid I'm going to have to disagree. While the music isn't the worst I've ever heard, it seems to clash with the lyrics I read beforehand. Good lyrics, but the singer's voice grates on my nerves a little. I expected something that sounded more brooding, the potential was there. That is the fault of the band, not the poster.
I would have liked to have seen something more in the visual department, but the focus was probably on the music itself. The sound quality is excellent.
awesome!!!!

If you want, you should check out the earlier Marillion stuff with Fish as the singer. Type in "Misplaced Childhood." Perhaps their most famous album?
Marillion have some good stuff and personally I wouldn't judge the whole group by one song. Their earlier stuff is just brilliant.
Up to you though! But won't hurt to listen around some more maybe.

So the essence of your complaint is that the song isn't emo enough? What the hell is the matter with you?
SpeakMoreClearly 2 years ago
Such a list would take far too much time and effort to compile. It would certainly take more than 500 characters.
It's not so much that the song isn't "emo," it just struck me as too upbeat. Then again, that is merely my humble opinion.

These guys are so good they make it seem like nine minutes is the most natural length for a pop song. :)
