It really says something that despite the film's shortness, it's able to carry enough emotion to give the impression of there being a really powerful story (particularly, in my opinion, one with some level of moral ambiguity in the characters) about these people that we are seeing a mere snapshot of.

Actually I am just a touch curious. Was the lightsaber color choice done on purpose, or selected for ascetics? red is almost always exclusively used by the Sith and Dark Jedi, where as purple was the color used by Jedi who had mastered Sith force powers and fighting techniques but managed to not fall to the dark side. That was why Sam Jackson's character was supposed to be so bad ass, and the best at lightsaber combat among the jedi.

Makes this video a touch more epic, I think.

Absolutely still the best fan made lightsaber dual. Watching these guys move versus other videos you can the fluidity and smoothness of the coreography. Other videos have soem decent duels, but the techniques are sloppy and slow, especially when compared with this one.

Despite the low quality.......I'm very impressive. I'm saying that as an individual in the film industry. The only thing I didn't, or more-so, thought could of been better was the voice-over for the narration. Didn't buy the emotion quite well. Excellent backdrop. The set-up with the MA style with the civil war letter(possibly the most famous war-time letter in existence) was very original and really set the mood and grabbed my attention. Certainly had an emotional stirring in me.

The jedi would never use these crystals when making their lightsabers. He is the most powerful Jedi with a lightsaber, being only bested in a sparring match by Yoda and Dooku, A jedi at the time...

@AGooeyCookie actually the colour of the blade is dependant on the colour of the primary focusing crystal and nothing at all to do with the meditation process. the coour of the crystal is chosen and doesnt change throughout the meditation any colour can be meditated upon using any emotional traits whatsoever and these emotions enhance the crystals and the blades properties. the colour in itself is symbolic only and for practical use irrelevant.

Simply outstanding. The music selections added depth, the locale added grandeur, and the choreography was incredible. The camera angles were brilliant as well. This video really enables the suspension of disbelief, which is a major accomplishment when dealing with a sci-fi storyline.  I just wish the prequels had as much heart poured into them as this video obviously did.

It would be interesting to see a lightsaber duel or batle done in the style of Japanese samurai movies. Samurai fights are often quicker (and in some cases more realistic) than Chinese-style wu shu fight scenes. The original Star Wars lightsaber battles were more like samurai fights than wu shu fights.
