  • chit chat all you want, but you just a runaway rats that once helped the American destroyed your own country.

  • @changunit

    1. Yes, there were some Lao people who helped the Americans back then but not everybody was in that group.

    2. Some Lao people had to leave the country because of the Communist suppression.

    3. The invasions of the United Stated, of course were both good and evil in itself, they went to Laos hoping the wipe out the Communists, in return they suppressed the Lao peoples.

  • U R so right about communist trickeries, I went to "so call siminar" with my father, my whole family went together. In 1975, my father did believe the communists that they wil be true to thier words, but everyone knows now!! LPDR is no better then Ya Mo of Korat traitor to all lao race!!

  • @phetlao so what can we do sir? as long as the communists are in power, Laos will always the poorest in Asean

  • @thetriptobountiful Thanks for asking and because U care! To have the love 4 our country is a good thing. I have no magic answers for Ur ?! Just love our family, built our lives to the fullest, & educate our children - send them to an Ivy League Univ. if possible. When we become self sufficient then we can help others & more focus. As 4 myself, I just want to have the right to vote without being a communist; it's my lao heredity right & I love Lao no less than Lao communists!!

  • @phetlao Thank you for your prompt reply sir, I am 23 years old, i think many Lao youngsters like me would feel the same, fortunate enough i got a chance to study overseas, that's how i realised that communist system is not compatible with the our country's very nature. the communists have been in power for more than 30 years, but the education system, governance as well as health care systems remain the worst in Asean

  • @thetriptobountiful Pardon me if i ask u some what personal ?. R u a communist?, or ? political ideology?. U r only 23yr of age & u already aware of ur environment! I can see that u will have a bright future ahead of u. ? ur parents, or lao gov't funded 4 ur education in Singapore? I earned my degree in BBA Econ/political science in 89s, from the Univ. of Georgia. I stronly believe that Laos should immulate Singapore's & S. Korea's econ/education/fiscal models. Plze don't hesitate 2 ?s, OK

  • @phetlao Dear Sir, first of all, thanks for your reply. To your first question, I do not belong to any political camp, be it communism, socialism or Americanism. My only concern is, If Laos continue to this pattern "being a communist state" we will always be last in the rankings. As I did some projects with the European Union Commission concerning trade relations, FDI and education system in ASEAN region, Laos is always at the bottom among the countries, to me it is just sad, because Laos has

  • @thetriptobountiful I'm glad that U recognized communism isn't an answer 4 Lao's progress into the next millenium. I'm 100% agree w/u btwn the have, party leaders, & the have not, poor in the rural! Freedom in every aspects is the right choice, freedom in enterprises, expressions, religions, political; Freedom is catalylus to change, peace, prosperity, & quality of life to the mass. There r not too many laos in the world any more, why don't we just love one another & built our country together!

  • @thetriptobountiful Unfortunately, we have to choose which systems, or principles to guide/control our lives/country.? is democracy, or communism, and U already know the answers! I like to make one thing clear to the younger laos, USA never was the enemy of lao pple, but communist gov't propagated it that way. Communism is the enemy of the free pple, & free world. The USA helped laos to stop spreading of communism which tried to destroy Lan Xang kingdom, our king killed without a trace!! Sad!

  • @phetlao Laos has much potential. My heart goes to those poor Lao people in the rural areas, those are being forgotten, where they live, there is no electricity, no convenient routes..so who is to blame? I am trying to be fair to the government here, they did some good job fighting again the Americans in the 70s but now things have changed, we cannot stick to the same ideology at all costs, we need changes.

  • @thetriptobountiful History, none of our neighboring countries was our friend, except Khmers; Siam, Vietnam,China, Burma, tec. took something from laos. Thai almost took the entire lao kingdom, then lao king begged France for help, but France exploited laos, instead of protecting laos. Modern history, China/Vietnam will not let nothing happen to lao communists for the next100yrs, so they can take over & excerpt their agenda. The true lao race/ royal faimily / rural areas R dying, will be gone.

  • @phetlao You know, it is really hurt whenever I come across a conversation with the Thai people, some even look down on us, i cannot stand it, Laos used to be a great nation, of course history tells us that Esan also belonged to Laos, i also suspect that the Shan state of Burma and the Sipsongpana of China also belonged to Lao Kingdom ( they all speak the languages that i can easily understand, the accent is pretty close to Lao). Anyway my point is we should rebuild our nation.

  • @thetriptobountiful I feel your frustrations; in general, when other nationals see us, they see the reflections of Laos; but Thais make their superiorities too obvious! Thai was the aggressor, & Lao lost the war; the entire lao Lan Xan kingdom was belong, or vassel to Thai; Our ancestors were slaves, or workers to Thais. When France helped Laos, only 1/3 of the kingdom back from Thai. We didn't get the same opportunities like most nations had. Why lao comm. do not see what is happening to us!
