Not the fast paced Stopmotion I was expecting but still very compelling...Reading some of the comments below I saw the "tension" between faster pace and the slower pace you set for this. I liked this piece a great deal.

@Earthlinn You are right that it seems like things are speeding up, to my mind our current society is like a train, barreling down the tracks to a brick wall; yet we continue to throw heaps and heaps of coal into the burner.

That aside, I loved this animation you made Dave Bowker. For me its speed was perfect, and the composition of the trees combined with the music struck a chord. I know a lot of people won't agree with me as they don't know how to slow down and just be, but thats fine

I know how time consuming Stop-Action and drawing can be, but I'd like to see this video (ie, the drawing of the forest) play much faster, it should be a shorter piece. Transitions take too long. Just a thought

it works really well. I like the slow pace. Meditative in this hectic world. If you have flash animation on your computer, you could achieve something similar in a fraction of the time, but personally I'm into the hand drawn element. Keep it up. If more people took the time to stop and do something creative, instead of destructive, the world would be aneasier place to be in.

the drawings are great (dunno why, I have some strange love for dry trees), but I recommend you use more shots. Instead of scanning each time you draw, take a camera and take a photo of the drawing. Also, take the pics more constantly, so that we can appreciate the process better. Look at my new stop motion animation called "The Dreamer 21", here on YouTube, maybe you can see what I'm saying about the pics. Hope you like it!

Beautiful animation! I encourage you however to use more snapshots in your stopmotion animation, show the process more. Shorter line strokes and more shots is the key. And stay very loose in your drawing. What i'm saying is don't focus on the finished product as you are making the animaiton. In this kind of abstract animation it is important to stay in the moment of each mark that you are making.

I jus realised now that this one isn't the Monty Python'esqu version. This is the really mellow cut I did. There's more on another version that has animals and flowers and stuff.

What I did with that was draw/painted the details and animated them in flash, so it's .flv which I can't upload. ;(
