I knew Mrs Penland (RLS Yard supervisor), Tom Penland, the late Randy Penland and when the Penlands had the Mobil Station next to Taylors on Main Street. Good memories.
Mr. Burquez was not one of my teachers, but yes, I certainly knew Herb. Great guy! My favorite teachers were Pete Ainslee, Bob Graf (band), and Charlie Toogood. All different, all wonderful teachers and people.
There was one Penland with a twisted sense of humor, older than Pete but good god he was funny. He used to hitchhike holding a sign that read "Harmless"
Well, his oldest brother, Jim, is/was my best friend and is the funniest person on the planet. You may be speaking of Tom, the middle brother though... a close second to Jim. Jim is the one in the movie standing in front of the barn in the denim jacket having a smoke.
Rich...I knew the guitar work...then I heard Proctor's solo...Tone Champs were better...great stuff...although the video borrowed heavily from the Monkees...where's the Green House?

Ha, I knew all those teachers, I agree...I have favorable memories of those ones. I left in 83 so we must be of close vintage..

I noticed a Penland last name in credits. I knew Pete Penland and I knew his mother was a yard duty teacher at RLS.

His brother Jim is my best friend. Haven't seen him for years, but Jim and I hung out together since Boy Scouts. I was a drummer.
