This was censored in the U.S. version. The version you're seeing here is the original Japanese version, in which he cuts his arm and head off with a knife. It is "censored" in the U.S. version. I put "censored" in quotation marks because, in my opinion, the thing they did to censor it makes it even MORE violent. Rather than using a knife, it was "censored" so that he FREAKING RIPS OFF HIS OWN HEAD WITH HIS ARMS.

They both have their own flair of "Holy shit, this guy is terrifying."

The scene wasn't removed, but certain parts of it were edited out, like the blood. A lot of little stuff like that had to be cut so it could get a T rating because an M rating would equal less sales.

Actually PLENTY of them were, including me. The series was always targeted at teens and that's the demographic it was most popular with. It would have been a bad marketing move to restrict it to 17 and older.

Actually, all three games have tons of censored spots, in the same silly way as this one (so, cutting an arm is a big no no for our innocent, pure, angelic kids, but RIPPING it is ok? Interesting concept...). The censorship in the sequels is actually even wider and more evident (blood? blood? Where have you gone, blood?). Luckily enough, you can find undubbed AND uncensored versions of episode II and III.

I saw this scene in the American english version. It was pretty gruesome. What do you mean this isn't available in the American version? He tears his own head off and everything; it's the only scene I remember from the first game, when he stands on his head and crushes it.

The scene is indeed in the US version, however it has been slightly modified - and in a very silly way. For instance, at 1:30, instead of breaking the arm of the dead realian you just see albedo letting the arm go. Yet you still hear the crunch sound of the bones breaking. He aswell has no knife and just swings his empty hands around. The same goes for when he cuts his own arm and head, no knife and no "blood". Absolutely ridiculous.

Well the game rating went from M to T after the censorship lol.

The dark spots were to spare the onlooker any more trauma that they could have. This scene is not that much censored though, it's the next Momo Albedo one that was really censored.

In the English version, it looks like he is snapping that dead girl's neck and everyone seems to like him ripping his head and arm off more. They made the English version more gruesome than the original.

This one does have a black spot but in the english version you can't really see much without the black spot anyways... this one you can see blood shooting out from his neck when he took the knife to it. In the english version you just see his head being moved around rapidly (not even in an unrealistc way)

Actually before the 80s, you could drink on a U.S. military base if you were active personal and18+. However, MADD pressured Congress into making the military bases adopt the same drinking policy as the state they were in. So you have "Mothers Against Drunken Drivers" to thank for that, although most military personale would not drink and drive because that could get them court marshaled. I have an older friend who was in the U.S. military in the 70s, so he knows.

In Xenosaga episode 2 it's revealed that Albedo was always extremely jealous of Sakura, who took away Jr.'s attention from him, and whom he believed wasn't treating Jr. right. Sakura was Joachim Mizrahi's late daughter, who the URTVs used to communicate with. MOMO is modeled after Sakura, and the Kirshwassers were her prototypes. This along with Albedo's inability to make healthy relationships because other are mortal, and the insanity contact with U-DO causes (Yuriev/Voyager) made him this way.

Why the hell do they edit content from video games that isn't all that horrific or offensive? If they had shown this scene, Xenosaga Episode I wouldn't have been all that painful for me to play. Let's just hope Episode III doesn't suck, or have mediocre acting like Episode II's. I still think Xenogears kicks both of their asses.
