  • ayrton senna is the last champion.

  • Masterful, masterful...

  • It's so amazing to see him at the limit, he's so confident I don't blame him for wanting to beat Prost this race (Which he would have). He said it best, he wasn't born to come 3rd, 4th or 5th. He races to win. At the end of it all he beat Prost.

  • no puedo dejar d mirar este video... fantasticooo!!!!

  • GEEEENIIIOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They wonder why modern day F1 is so boring, bring back real race cars not computers

  • The F1 turbo age was the pinnacle of speed, aggression and skill.

  • The best driver ever on the best circuit ever in the best configuration of its history, at the best f1 era, with the best commentator.

One bad point : JM Ballestre...

  • @GTAGIS that Ballestre and pole position location thing is nonsense. Pole was always on the outside line at Suzuka. Check the 1989 race start. Senna was so self confident and arrogant that his mind simply was not able to accept somebody being better. Therefore in such situations there was always somebody else to blame. Nobody promised him to change the pole location that day. And in 1989 he should have been disqualified for receiving a push start which is disallowed

  • @beqa16v "that Ballestre and pole position location thing is nonsense." In 1990 marshals agreed that the pole should be on the left side of the track, in the race trajectory. because pole position was supposed to be an advantage not a drawback as it was on certain circuits(Same thing for Mexico and other tracks). Ballestre, head of FISA, change a decision that the marshalls commissioners have taken after Senna took the pole! It was obviously a manoeuvre of Ballestre against Senna and for Prost

  • @GTAGIS It is the same today! pole position is not always on the racing line and drivers face it! Senna was arrogant bastard who wanted things changed his way, that's it. I pretty much hate Ballestre also but if I was in his shoes or in shoes of marshals, I would not change the pole location also just because one driver wanted it to be changed!

  • @beqa16v You are obviously subjective and vulgar, without knowledge. pole position palce is the privilege of the poleman. For instance, and you sureley ignore that , at Donington, Prost decided to place the pole. The pole is set up as being an advantage for the driver in pole. normally on the trajectory, or being the best consensus trajectory distance to the first corner, like Monaco or like at Jerez where the trajectory is between place 1 & 2 . Ignorant !

  • @GTAGIS Pole is an advantage in terms of handicapped distance. There are no rules stating that it has to be on the racing line. I have already said that even this year the pole position was not always on the racing line, it is not like that by default. The organizers did not do anything special at all in 1990 at Suzuka. The pole position was kept where it was before in 89, 88, etc. Just because one person wanted it to be changed does not mean it had to be changed.

  • @beqa16v The pole was set up at the left of the track, before qualifying, by the stewarts. This is an historical fact. Ballestre after the pole, decided to change it, intervening in the work of those who where according to the FIA, in charge of the sportive event and thus, violating all rules of separation of powers.

  • @beqa16v this was fact! For 1989, Prost claimed that he will shut the door if Senna tries to pass him. if they were both eliminated in a collision, Prost would be champion. Difference between Senna and Prost is that Senna did 1990 in revenge against injustice and assumed . Prost did 1989 and we are still waiting his confession. So check your basis, you ignore things. none said pole was put and changed in 89 but in 90. And Prost made the collision in 89

  • @GTAGIS Prost said that every time Senna attacked him in a Kamikadze manner he, he was letting him through. Prost said that he will not do it this time. The collision was Prosts fault in 1989 but look at Senna's maneuver, he launched his car out of nowhere, he was not close enough to attack, the helicopter camera shows this very well. The only way past in this situation was if the defending driver fully went off the line and let Senna through. Senna later didi the same banzai on Nanini.

  • @GTAGIS And as for 90 pole position, check out the Senna documentary. Senna goes to marshals and asks them to change the pole location (how come, why should they? it was always there). The answer that they will look at the situation, nobody promises to change it! It was just Senna inventing things he wanted to believe in. He was a great personality but an arrogant person whose tremendous self-belief and inability to accept that he could also be defeated was forcing him to do some very dirty stuf

  • Senna was superb in these race. And he catch Prost. But as f1 dot com says, Prost collide against him to avoid his overtaking.

  • that onboard camera to the side of the driver was the best view ever. now they use a silly camera on the top of the car that does not give the drivers view!

  • He is fucking flying...

  • Love the wail of that V10 engine!

  • Some say senna niple have the shape of monaco circuit

  • i wonder if any F1 driver today can drive with a manual gearbox...

  • @TheMacilus92 schumi and barrichello

  • @TheMacilus92 They would piss themselves if they tried to do this on their limits.... XD

  • 1994

  • Greatest sounding engine of all time. Greatest driver too. Ayrton Senna forever!!!!

  • @swistral1 you think that sounds good? listen to the Mclaren MP4-6

  • Some say that Ayrton Senna was able to climb a cactus with ease.

  • Beautiful, Senna really was poetry in motion. :)

  • downshfit six to one gear in manual car, what difficult, and Senna does this better than all.

  • @trezoitao38 did they have to get each gear as they slow or could it go from 6 straight to 1

  • @nunchuckerz Six direct to first gear, or 6 to 3/4 and to first gear. Because of the carbon brakes, the pilots use more the brake pedals and less the engine.

But the most difficult is make the downshit correctly at the right time for dont break the engine or loss grip rapidly.

  • Close your eyes and breathe in that magnificent engine sound

  • stoner rock/metal + onboards = orgasm

  • @danthemanpatrick the '89 engine was a V10.

  • He done that lap basiclly 1 handed abuslote great footage of the man working hard another great lap of his is adelaide 1991 there is some great footage 2

  • I just can't imagine how great it would be to match the engine speed on a downshift & hear the revs from that V-12 just skyrocket in a single instant.

  • RIP Ayrton And James

  • Ayrton was great because he went against the grain. This is most apparent in his driving style. He doesnt feather the throttle to keep the car on the limit of grip he stamps on and off the throttle by every right he should have spun the car evey time he looked at a corner instead he won 3 drivers titles and 61 poles

  • @marcus6291 65 poles

  • Senna was simply the best. Period!!! :)

  • Schumacher had the cold precision, Senna had the heart and the passion. Plus he had balls the size of Monaco haha.

  • @jimmyhayers Schumacher has made his share of mistakes under pressure, even Prost has. Senna certainly has been seen to act more emotional in car, but I think he was best in every driving aspect, including cold precision. He could be more ruthless than anyone.

  • @VegetativeHorse Obviously it wasn't absolutes as we've seen Schumacher go mad at times but I just mean overall. I don't think it's possible to single out any one best driver, there were other people like Piquet and Prost as well who were incredibly talented it's the same as the argument with greatest footballers it's impossible to prove any one single driver as the best. Senna was unbelievable though, makes me want a Honda NSX haha.

  • @jimmyhayers Well put. I know what you meant, but due to Senna's personality, it's almost natural to overlook how bright and analytical he was. I agree of course that it gets very hard to compare drivers and almost impossible if they haven't raced each other. Sometimes you get impressions from here and there, for example I think that Piquet was a better driver than Mansell and that he could outpace Prost regularly, in the same car. But I cannot prove it.

  • @jimmyhayers My point with Senna is that while, from a driving aspect, every driver has some week points, Senna seemed to have none. Great in fast circuits, slow and technical, rain, bad terrain, overtakes, driving a slow car and of course, perfect in qualifying. I think he probably was the best overall as he proved himself among so many great drivers, but obviously there's not some objective way you could compare him with Fangio of Jim Clark.

  • I remember watching this race when a teenager, that engine note was brutal. Makes modern F1 look sterile!!

  • @dukeofmetal09 probably because it is sterile compared to then, and it could be a lot worse in a couple of yoears seeing as though they're talking about using a 1.6l 4-cylinder turbo engine.

  • HAHA - this lap is like seeing an old friend after 20 years - this was the year i started kart racing and you better believe having a camera in-car with THE MASTER OF THEM ALL in his office was better than anything you could imagine. I must have watched this lap literally 1000 times to learn from the Great One. And learn I did.

    This is magnificent stuff !
