  • are the jogs turning the effects on? or dry/wet?

  • so much useless showmanship...

  • @achromatic1 most club goers aren't simply satisfied with listening to a track that is kept unchanged and original time and time again, it's nice to hear a bit of personalization with the song rather than the same thing everytime.

  • look up "jgonza53" on the searchbar and it will be a video with a pic of traktor studio with the link in the description

  • you guys should make a similar mapping for the s4!

  • Did I miss it? What just happened?

  • KONTROL S4!

  • @eangolden I just ordered my Traktor Kontrol S4. Is this something that can be done to the S4? Or does it even need to be done? I know the s4 has dedicated effect facets.

  • How much does it cost the desk dj mix?

  • D-Nox & Beckers ?

  • So i just tried to import the new maping but its says error while parsing settings file on import. What does this mean and how can i fix it. thank you

  • look guys, I'm no pro, but I'm of the opinion that djing is about being a performer, entertaining a crowd. Being an expert beatmatcher should matter less than being a crowd pleaser

  • Question:

Im using Traktor LE at the moment, because this disk was in the box of my new midi controller.

But now i only have 4 effects left (i used Pro before).

Is there any way to import effects into Traktor?

  • @lukeijzer Negativ. You have to purchase Trakto Pro / 3

  • Thank you

  • hey guys, i dont know if this would reply to any of you, im more interested in being a mixtape dj and i was wondering if serato can blend songs together but playing each track blended throught the whole cd without stopping? i wasnt sure if it can do that, or if theres any other program out there, please let me know, peace, one luv

  • can i do the same to the xponent?!

  • I want to do this with my digital jockey 2 *_*

  • @NorbyOffical you can :D

  • WANT ONE OF THOSE. Are the jog wheels touch sensitive?

  • @dalviel yes they are :)

  • @Norby =OOOO

  • i wake up every morning and listen to those seconds of the track, that buildup is INSANE!! i have to buy that track!! Ean, can you throw us the name pleasE? just for the music lovers :)

  • @ljohnny0323 eric entrena and d-unity-drugs and stuff

  • whats the name of the song? i like it

  • hmm my traktor pro 1.2.1 loads beatmasher 2, phaser flux and mullholland drive instead of your effects. why is that?

  • lol... you can choose , where he shall load what... xD

  • apparently, it had to do with the latest traktor update that added some effects and messed up the order. the latest mapping fixed it.

  • what is the music ?

  • you make it look easy

  • Where do you plug in the Musician 3000?

    Gotta love cookie cutters.

  • very much! seriously professional, it's awesome! Maybe you could offer it to download for VDJs....

  • im all for virtual dj'ing!!! i love it! BUT i worry that if ean, moldover an the like advertise too heavily the aspects of dj'ing that are easy it will harm the art form as a whole. even tho i greatly admire and respect wot these guys are doing with their midi controllers i worry for the future of the art..... will enuf kids sacrifice the instant gratitude of midi mixing to first learn the "basics" ???? id love to hear ur opinions please msg me

  • chooby3000......... GREAT effing comment. And i might add well said for a person ( no disrespect) your age. But alas my friend with the ease of use and availability of digital mixing, the art form as you and I know it will be lost. I mean i started on a pair of Belt driven Numarks. And took years of practice to learn how to make a clean mix. NOW with programs like Traktor you dont even need frigen headphones. It just kills me because as you allude not too many people will take the time i took.

  • Think of it like this... You use a calculator in mathematics and you achieve things quickly that would of taken ages.

The flip side is you learn how to do it without a calculator in school first! ;) Think about it :D

  • TiimKemp I hear what youre saying but its an off analogy in that it depends on when you went to school. Im 37 next month and in primary school we didnt have calculators. You learn mathematics FIRST on paper. In high school and college you use a calculator.

And what chooby3000 was saying is that digital djs now arent starting with "paper" they are starting with a "calculator".

Last month i downloaded the demo version of traktor just to see what it was about . And wow its soo easy

  • Dont get me wrong I'm not one of those geezers thats not in favor of progress and technology. I know one day Technics will stop making turntables. As i said Im saving my pennies to buy Serato because i LOOOOOVE the fact i dont have to lug around 2 or 3 crates to a residency anymore. Now its just laptop , needles and control discs. Holy crap i love that. :-) But i just loved the point that chooby3000 was making.

  • That said .... i AM getting into Serato because it still leaves room for actually "physically" mixing...with real beat matching and the like.

BTW i still have those Numarks ,now almost 20 years old.

  • haha i totally agree about Serato!!! keep rockin those antique numarks!!! maybe treat them to a nice shiny new pair of slips for all their hard work??

  • chooby3000, the instant gratitude of midi mixing wont teach you how to read (and respond to) a crowd, how to program a set, or how to do many other very important aspects of djing that ONLY come with time and experience (and talent).

you can fake knowing how to beatmatch, and can even avoid it altogether, but you cant fake knowing how to keep a flooring going when you get a tough crowd in your club

  • i agree, and a good dj will use the software at his finger tips to enhance his set and give a better performance altogether. However ive seen many bad djs spend so much time with their head in a laptop they dont even kno wot the crouds doing. Sticking rigidly to their pre-practised set without the "Basic skills" needed to change the direction of their set on the fly.

  • Just as there are vinyl DJs that shit themselves if they miss a drop... I agree with what your saying but I dont think the issue is the software... I think if anything its simply that there are more "casual" DJs these days because the gear is so accessible.

  • @TiimKemp The gear may be accessible, good taste and passion isn't so no worry;)

  • @chooby3000 Undeniably technology improves very rapidly. I ask you, if technology gets to the point where it;s absolutely unnecessary for new DJs to learn how to beatmatch should they still learn?

  • @chooby3000 I agree with you dude but I think the kind of direction Ean is going is more music creation and not traditional digital DJ'ing. If you think about it playing the guitar is easy but the real skill and beauty is using it to create your own music. Think of the VCI and Traktor as an instrument and, however easy it may be, the beauty is that it is infinitely more expressive than anything else out there!

  • @chooby3000 art is art... expression is expression!!

  • Do you think about, druuuuugs and stuff?

  • pls make longer demo´s i just didn´t get it. witch effect you used in wich way...

  • wicked, who made the DJ Techtools ident?

  • that was a friend in Berlin- do you like it?

  • @eangolden it's awesome

  • @eangolden when do we get to see ripping it up in europe ???

  • @eangolden i sure do haha
