The world is facing huge economic problems. A great new book for consumers to help with the economy is called "Money 911: Tested Strategies to Survive Your Financial Emergency by Reed and Lorena Markham. This book will save you thousands of dollars.
The developing world suffers the most because the the whole purpose of the IMF and the World Bank is to keep them poor and destitute. If everybody consumed as much as a British person, we would need 8 more planets to provide the resources.
A fallacious argument. The 3rd world doesn't consume, because they don't produce. People like you blame the US and UK for everything from polution to war to disease. You pretend that your leftist ideas are the answer, yet the collapse of communism proves you a liar. Consumption produces trade, jobs, life. A Rwadan's carbon footprint may be small, but compared to what they produce, it's huge. Western consumption creates innovation, technology, medicine, art...the computer you are using right now.
Hmm that's funny because neither the US or UK produce much anymore as you can see from the respective collapse of our manufacturing industries. The production of these goods have been outsourced under the whim of freemarket globalisation to impoverished nations, where they are made under in sweatshops for a fraction of the cost with no regards to safety regulations or a living wage.
Funny how you have labeled my point fallacious and then proceed to fallaciously assume that I'm a communist.
I make no such assumptions. I called your ideas leftyist, I didn't called you a communist. Gauging by the videos and friends on your page I can make general assumtions about you. You wear your face on your sleeve and then you attempt to wiggle out by saying I'm the one who's points are fallacious. Not everything is a hexagonal conspiracy. You speak of western production as if it's non-existant and embrace non-contributors. Who but The US/UK/EU will lead the world out of this crisis? Chad?
"yet the collapse of communism proves you a liar", that's an interesting fallacious assumption. So because I'm against the IMF and World Bank, you're intimating that I possess communist beliefs and/or I'm anti-capitalist. Neither of which is true, the world is not black and white. This whole left/right paradigm is misnomer in itself, though it's fair enough to base assumptions on my 'friends' and 'videos'.
Nor do I. But to blame the IMF/Worldbank and consumerism in the UK for it makes less sense than blaming Islamism for it. I could more easily correlate the decline of the global economy with the recent resurgence of Islamism post Iranian revolution, than you could to British consumerism. Right now, Muslim immigrants constitute the greatest drain on European social programs of any minority. Right now corolating 3rd world population explosions w/crisis makes more sense than British consumerism.
I would just like to reiterate that I did not blame the economic crisis on the IMF/WB, I was making the point that IMF and the WB are institutions set up by the West to serve Western interests. Your hypothetical correlations of this recession and Islam are ridiculous and absurd. In that mindset you could argue that this 'war on terror' has in fact helped the global economy by propping up our respective military industrial complexes, much like WW2 helped the US economy after the Great Depression.
"The developing world suffers the most because the the whole purpose of the IMF and the World Bank is to keep them poor and destitute."- You
As I said I can more easily make my correlations than you could yours. You called mine assertions "ridiculous and absurd"... what does that say for your's? I even gave a few examples to illustrate my point, yet you call me "absurd" which is laughable coming from someone who just blamed the British consumer. See Below for further examples.
"I can more easily make my correlations than you could yours", that's another interesting insinuation as it is you trying to compare a geographical populace "endo-europeans" with a religion "Muslims". Nor have "blamed the British consumer", I was just giving and example of the disproportionate usage of resources of an average UK citizen in comparison to peoples of a developing country.
PS: Immigrants pay more in taxes in the UK than they take away in benefits, thus producing a net benefit.
Fallacious argument "mix". Your example of "disproportionate usage" fails to account for the fact that the average 3rd worlders don't have cars, heat houses, etc.. If they did, then we Would need 8 worlds. Conversely, if the birthrate in the 3rd world matched that of "white europeans" their would be much less of a drain on resources. The population on the planet is outstripping the resources. The 3rd world is threatening to swallow the entire world. There are now too many people...Everywhere.
I've come to the conclusion that you do not actually understand the concept of fallacious statements. Your notion that the "The 3rd world is threatening to swallow the entire world" lives only in the world of fiction. The average north american consumes 40 times as much resources than that of an average person from Africa. To support your strange theory, an African family would have to have more than 40 children to "swallow the entire world".
I beg your pardon, I thought you would understand that I meant "Logically Fallacious" as in logical fallacy.
For your comparison upon what do you base these numbers. I don't see you citing a source, nor do I agree. BTW, Here's a good one for you. OBL's dad had 56 kids, OBL's got 30 something. Between father and son, that over 80 children. Google it. My theory as I said is much closer to reality than yours. I assure you, there are men in this world with more than 40 children.
You talk about how the Brits "consume", but it's not the endo-europeans having an average of 6 children per couple. While many Muslims like to brag about how "Islam is the fastest growing religion" they forget to mention that it's cause is birthrate and the living standards in every Islamic country in the world falls in the lower 1/2 of the world average. Add to that a birthrate that dwarfs all but the Chinese and their traditionally low literacy rates and you have a recipe for global collapse.
"The Developing world"...You mean the 3rd World. Those little dictatorships who rely on handouts from the west will suffer most because they Haven't developed. If the Islamic world is smart, they'll pray to Allah that the US and the West doesn't reduce agricultural production, because it is we who feed them. There may come a day when all bonds are broken and that will be the great sorrow of the world. Pray and work. What have you done for your neighbor(whatever religion) lately.
the "over consumption" argument is moot. the largest consumers are also the largest producers of food and energy.
