I will have to say that college is the most overpriced thing in the country. 450percent increase in price in the last 15 or 20 years.

Two year training programs make you a living! If you are carrying college debt without a real marketable skill you are an idiot. If you are not working because you are waiting for a teaching spot for Latino studies or some such nonsense you are an idiot.

I never graduated from college and never got a college loan. I went on to work, became a Director of Manufacturing...make tons of money and my house almost paid for. These people with student loans are in big trouble.

I put myself through school with NO parents, and I thought I was doing the right thing, "to better my future" NOW I can't get a job a Burger King and I am starving on the streets of Austin. What my college degree did was "outsize" me from all of the NORMAL jobs I was used to working at. A manager of a pizza place does not want to hire someone with more education than they have.The closest I cam to getting a job was hiding the fact that I went to a really good college and got a Bachelor's degree.

By not having a degree may have saved me from being a brainwashed conformist. I also have a full time job to pay for my degree and the job that I'll get when I finish my degree doesnt even pay well but you know what I have to be qualified to do it!! Entitlement Mentality - be original, be yourself, is the degree the person or is the person better equipped as a grad? One still needs to find their nitch and dig into some defining thrill that makes them unique rather than a corporate brand or phantom worker 'bee'.

Only certain degrees are worth anything. Degrees like Nursing can get you a good job when you get out. Maybe you should get an Licensed Vocational Nurse two year degree.

Other degrees are not worth anything, Sociology degrees, political science degrees, liberal arts degrees fine arts degrees. For a two year degree a LVN degree will work......Certifications pay more than degree, Licensed vocational nurse.

I gave you a +1 because what you say is true. I spent a year after getting my degree in 06 looking for work with a B.A. in Political Science. My advisers actually advised against internships. I joined the National Guard and still can't find anything related to my field... but now all I can find is temp work.
