  • One of the worst audio qual... videos on the tube... still one of the best! Love it! =) Love that JP8 sound!

  • excellent I love the sound and the tour of the synths very envious. Is it not possible for you to give a run down on what synths you used for each part etc eg what is the bass it sound very Divine-ish.

Love the hi-Nrg sound. Can't make my mind up whether to get rid of my analogue synths as they are becoming more of a pain and as for my Soundtracs desk - I am reluctant to go DAW but it seems the rest of the pack are ahead of an old dinosaur like me.

  • I think you best stick to your analog gear and synths!

In a few years these babies will be worth a fortune and the DAW's of today will be outdated and nothing more than scrap metal and "incompatible software".

A good synth never loses value, it only goes up!

I spent a lot of time thinking about DAW, and i have a PC based studio system as multitrack for vocals, but the sound of this DAW is still far from where the Soundtracs desks already were in the 80's.

KEEP YOUR GEAR! is my advice...

  • HAHA this is excellent!

Posting this on FB...... awesome rig man!!

  • insane!!! 5/5

  • OMG i love your collection. i'll bet its never cold in that room!

  • There are small rectangular windows in the walls of that control room, plus a mobile airconditioning system.

My old studio often got to 40 degrees Celsius, but this studio doesn't get much hotter then 28 degrees....

It's very, very inspiring to work in a analog studio, i tried the DAW way, but i soon got frustrated with the overall sound and workflow of it.

I work behind computer screens all day at the radio station where i work, so i want to reduce the "staring to a screen" to a minimum.

  • I was thinking nice... reeeeeal nice and then you blew by the elka synthex and I cried out.. OHHHHHHH like being hit in the gut.. one great synth.

  • lucky bastard

  • DAMN!! The DMX,,, 808,,, Prophet V,,, Jupiter 8,,,, Emulator ll,,,,Juno 60,,,,Korg Trident,,,,AKAI's BEST SAMPLERS,,,,,,,,

SH-101,,,,Synthex,,,, ALL THE GREAT VINTAGE MONSTERS!!!!

  • this is sooo fucking great :P your studio is amazing.

have you got any myspace? or whats your artist aliases?

  • What a collection of synths holy crap man fantastic!!

  • Wow, this is more like Spaceship then a room/studio, wow!

  • great stuff, thanks for sharing.

  • your studio is sick bro.

    emulator 2.....so sick

  • WOOT, Go Karel Go Karel!!

    WHoop WHoop!

  • what's the sequencer at the start? how old is it? thanks

  • Sequencer is Atari TT030 with a TTM bigscreen at 1280x960 pixels.

    Running CUBASE SCORE ATARI.

MIDI devices are Standard ATARI, MIDEX and SMP24.

Other hardware sequencer is Roland MSQ700 used as a synchroniser sometimes, it can link DIN-SYNC to MIDI.

Sequencing with ATARI gives me hassle-free recording and synchronizing with multitrack or my Atari Falcon with Cubase Audio on it.

  • Absolutely great. Which "Oberheim" is that? I still work with the "Matrix 1000". Is it an analog Synthesizer as well?

  • It's a DPX sample player.

Plays S900 and Emulator 2 sounds.

My percussion is partly Emulator 2, combined with percussion sounds i made myself.

  • Outstanding!

  • Wow!

  • I just came in my pants! Especially after seeing the Jupiter 8, 808, DMX, prophet 5, 101, Juno, and other great vintage synths!!! Nice setup man :)

  • Very beautifull studio, very good synthesizer song,,,,,,,,,,I added you favorite ;)

  • Amazing studio!!! So it's fair to say you think hardware sounds better than software? ;-)

    Hardware rules!!!

  • My opinion on hardware vs software is best left out.

My choice of hardware is purely a creative one.

I want a real classic disco sound, and the people that consume my music generally feel the same about the richness of the "oldschool" analog way of mixing and producing.

Please do NOT start a discussion on hardware v.s. software as it leads to nothing.

I was lucky to be able to afford this top notch stuff, best leave it at that.

  • I absolutely agree! Would NOT change the so called "old school" for anything!

I'm proud to say that I'm a DJ of the 80's and everyone should know how we used to work. The rhythm on this video sounds like Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round"... =) Well done!
