  • i used to live near dungeness (lydd) but moved to northumberland almost 7 yrs ago. love it up here, but seeing this vid kinda brings home what you miss. the pilots food, mostly lol

  • first time i have ever seen this video...wonderfull ...i have been here for 8yrs and love it ..i meet so many people that feel the same about dungeness..i am lucky enough to have the Britannia Inn as my home and can share my little knowledge of this area with visitors..

  • What a lovely lady and a lovely video. Let's hope it stays like this forever. I fish from the shore down there now and again and it is a shangrila, if that's how you spell it.

    Thanks for posting it up.

  • If you like Dungeness then you might like 'The Homing Instinct' by Andrew Benedict. Available now on Amazon's Kindle Bookshop. ... a darn good read.

  • What a brilliant Video, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS.

    Thank you

  • @peachy

I run a job at Dungeness B 15 years ago, building a new Co2 plant, I was there over a year and could tell a few stories regarding wildlife etc, that seems to be absent in all shape and form. Email me if you wish for honest, true answers that I do not wish to publish on here. Chris

  • I lived at Dungeness for just one year - down by the Roundhouse. I loved the place and even more loved the local folks that I met and became friends with. I feel, after watching this wonderful short flm, that a trip back down there and a few beers in the Britannia is long overdue.

  • @MrLAsurfpunk I'm glad the film has inspired you in some way. It really is a wonderful and unique place.

  • Cannot deny, one of my favourite place's on earth. For a few hour's.

    Lovely film.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Really enjoyed this - and like the lady says, there's nowhere else like it.

  • It sounds really professional and I love her accent. I am a foreigner from the East Europe so Dungeness is quite unique to me. But I have just put it in my list of places worth visiting in the first place. I wonder where I could find cheap accommodation near there? It would be lovely to spend there a week and see everything I want to see i.e. this strange wooden construction used as a Bass Communion ii cover and many other things.

  • Hi there

I live locally and there are lots of B&Bs around. You must see Derek Jarman's books for great photos and and tales of Dungeness - he had a house there and his partner still lives in it. It really is a very special place. The Pilot Inn has some of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted :o)

    Happy travelling

  • nice vid , i was born at dungeness and chrisened here and lived here for 20 years now , the woman interviewed at the begining actually lives opposite me and its usually windy and cold down here haha

  • @leubiaoc I'm currently making a book on Dungeness and it would be really lovely to get some insight from any Locals who'd like to give their opinion of the place etc. interested?

  • This is a beautifully put together work. you should try and get it on TV BBC in Kent do a local spot you should try and get this on..
