  • ...this is ALL motivated by greed of profit by the "owners and operators

of those Tar Sand fields. Shame on them! I am not amuzed!

  • I not going to argue with a stupid high school kid, trying to be a revolutionary...If you think the Oil Sands are going to get halted, keep dreaming.

  • It may be a shock video . . doesn't make it wrong. The co.s claim they're 'cleaner', but it's mostly on paper. Huge water withdrawals are still made. Co.s recently given a pass on cleaning up tailing ponds that leak into the enviro even co. and gov. doesn't know how much, and the largest growing rate of carbon gas while road emissions decline. I've worked in AB's oil . . it's a huge dirty op. But AB's oil is Holy Land. "Hands off our oil!" A chant I've heard for 40 years.

  • The OIL SANDS are not the demon that you are attempting to discredit. This is a dopey video which displays a narrow view. There are many polutions in the world far worse than the OIL SANDS. Hey, look at the Gulf of Mexico oil slick.

  • @oldieschick6

Go research before you critic. The tar sands are terrible from a climate perspective, and thats talking with an engineering background. Also the gulf of mexico slick is an oil disaster, and that has been recognized. The problem is that the tar sands are an ongoing project.

Regardless, it doesnt matter which is worse, in the end they are both terrible and discrediting one does not mean the other should be ignored.

  • @davidhover5 I have done the research knucklehead. I LIVE IN ALBERTA!

  • What a dum video, and people who comment on this have never worked or ever been to the oil sands operation. No its not toxic, I worked there for two years, and I have no problems. YES there are toxic lakes, called tailing ponds. But it will take time for them to settle and decompose, this operation is about 75 years long, so eventually the land will the reclaimed to its prior state, its a law in Alberta. You have to do it, so dont blame Harper...There is money to be made here. And lots of it...

  • @CanadianIndian88

And santa is real? and the earth is square? Your an idiot, and a perfect example of why people are protesting the tar sands. Money doesnt mean anything, you greedy scum bag. And 75 yrs is completely unacceptable. Go find some humanity.

  • @davidhover5

David stop sitting of your computer and your gay research, most of the shit you read is biased. So if you want to shut down the oil sands, the Alberta economy will be in shambles. Will you pay my monthly paycheck? I don't think so. Or will you pay for the 100,000 workers who are directly or indirectly working with oil sand projects? I don't think so?

So if you can't then keep your mouth shut.

    Thank You.

  • Harper doesn't even lead a legitimate government in Canada anymore... he's a fascist fraud, a racist, a terrorist, and a capitalist scumbag. I'm sure there's a nice leather chair waiting for him at some NGO or corporate board room...

  • what song is in the background?

    its amazing.

    OH..and i care?

  • funny how they used to predict really really bad things about the coal fired hydro plant at wabamun (east of Edmonton) which uses surface coal ...millions and millions of cubic metres and leaves acres and acres of holes in the ground.....all the holes are filled as they are depleted of coal and now are planted with crops you dorks seriously think they wont do the same at the tar sands?

  • I live in Alberta and I thank God for oil companies that are paying us to clean up all that oil in the sand up north. They are doing their best, its very messy job after all.You should be mad at whoever dumped that oil on the ground.Thats who really responsible!!!!

  • @travflo

Wow that really saids something about your intellegence, the fact you work up there and you dont have a clue about what you actually do just shows your stupidity and arrogance. No one dumped the oil in the sands you moron. Read up on how hydrocarbons are created, get through school while your at it.

  • @davidhover5

And Hydrocarbons are not created you stupid ass. They are FORMED from fossils decomposed over millions of years. Which are formed due to the high pressure created by rock formations due to the many layers which are persistent under the earth's formation. Did you CREATE hydrocarbons? and you are suggesting someone else to go to school? Your a joke dude, get out.

  • @CanadianIndian88

Wow your a perfect example of whats wrong with the world, if you can make money from it then it has to be done. Whats next? Start cutting the national parks down to make a couple dollars?

If you were in charge we would still have asbestos factories and coal would be the preferred choice of fuel.

Its called progress mate, get with it.

  • time for the int'l community, esp within the Commonwealth and @ COP15 to do whatever it takes to pressure PM Harper and the Canadian gov't to STOP the Tar Sands

  • Bro, Pls do not take this video seriously its obviously a joke, the oil sands don't kill anyone and they don't cause hurricanes.

  • It's no joke!

  • @sedna77 ,,You guys are retarded , 513 sq kilo is what incompasses the oil sands , Quebec and the the James bay hydro plant , destroyed 13,000 sq kiklo and nobody says shit about that !!!, plus we as Albertans out in 42 billion dollars in corporate and personal taxes to the feds in a tear , most of which went to Quebec , they contibute nothing ,,, fucking easterers , mind your own business .

  • Time, seriously to kick Harper's butt on our lazy-assed denialism re climate change.
