I am 55 years old. I heard this (Associates) song on the same day it was first released. Yesterday I got my car stereo fixed. So ALWAYS my test song for car (and home) stereos is this. At ELEVEN. Incredible. One of my five favorite bands of all time.
Sinister sounds more like the stuff you heard in Doctor Who in the 70s mate. Nothing like Kitchen Person whatsoever. You want to get your ears cleaned-out.
This track oddly reminds me of a slichtly sped up version of The Residents' song Sinister Exaggerator. Have a listen, I think there's relationship there..
I've got just about everything on vinyl by the Associates. I am emigrating to Oz in a few months. Don't know how much I can take with me so if anyone wants to buy a rare collection, let me know. Jay xx
PS for what it's worth, my best mate used to go out with Alan Rankin xx Just a though, t post script.

Love this song - I'm pretty sure they stole the rhythm (boomba-boomba) from the end of 'Jigsaw Feeling' from the first Souxie and the Banshees album (tape loop). I bought this single unheard - the B-side is 'An Even Whiter Car' - I figured a tune with this name had to be good, still have it.
Alan Rankine released a solo album when the Associates split called `The World Begins to Look Her Age` and the title track has exactly the same audio carnage as Kitchen Person and is a real gem, can someone post it (I've got the original album but have no idea of how to post it for the rest of you to enjoy!).
Why does this fade out???? One of the best parts of the song is that final organ chord!

Magic stuff. My mate used to go out with Alan's cousin. True. I just had to tell someone.
