@mba2ceo better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it. i bet your one of those people who are so batshit stupid that they think that the whole world is out to do them a favor and the police will always keep them safe.
Actually, you carry a gun because you're a poser wannabe LARPer type. You make it seem as if you are walking around in a danger filled environment all the time wherein you have very high chances of being a victim of violent crime. The likelyhood is that you don't. Really, you carry a gun because you enjoy the LARP.
@mba2ceo OK, so what does protect you my friend? I want to know, a knife? A rock? What protects me when its two in the morning getting home from work late when that criminal starts trying to mug me.
When criminals realize they may confront a CCW they will upgrade their assault. U will not even see it coming and may get your gun stolen as well. OCW is just MORE stupid than CCW.

Are U willing to get into a GUN fight over someone getting robbed ? over a few bucks ... I know MY life is more precious.
When someone breaks into your home in the middle of the night wielding a weapon, and proceeds to head toward your bedroom, do you know what will happen to you? You will get killed. I on the other hand will put six rounds into his chest before he even touches the door knob. If your walking on the streets with your wife, and a man runs up and points a knife at your wife demanding her purse, your wife's purse will get stolen and she'll be stabbed. My wife will put six rounds in him.
You're putting way too much faith in pop guns. It says something that your arguments are made through infantile Lego-like animation. Worse, your points about safety and personal freedoms are not brought about by an armed citizenry, but rather through laws, law enforcement and the threat of punishment (not to mention morality and ethics). WE live in a society of almost 300 million and WE must consider the greater public good vs. individuals who want to wave guns around. Grow-up dude.
Personal security is a personal responsibility. No law will keep you safe from an armed attacker who doesn't live by any law. Morality and ethics won't stop any bullet either. In the end, your personal actions are the only thing that you can rely upon to keep you safe. And sacrificing individual freedom for the "public good" is just another excuse criminals in politics use to take away your security and property.

@CambridgeHeights Why would you kill a loved one and not an intruder? Don't answer. You're probably a liberal gun control advocate and hence think out of your ass.
@CambridgeHeights And how many of them are done by people wide awake and thinking straight. See, you make my point for me. If accidental deaths are your concern then ban ladders. Do you know how many accidental deaths are caused by ladders? Ban electricity. Do you know how many people are accidentally electrocuted every year?
You need to advocate the use of one's head for something other than a hat rack.
@SuperDachshund I'm not saying we should ban anything. I'm just saying that if you have a gun the house, statistically you are on average in more danger than if you didn't because statistically that gun will more likely kill someone on accident than it will kill an intruder.
@CambridgeHeights Well, what you said was, "I carry a gun because it makes me more likely to kill a loved one than an intruder" so I'm assuming you're being facetious.
So cut to the chase. What kind of gun control are you advocating? If you say "None at all" then I have to assume you really can't stand your loved ones and, well, you weren't being facetious.
@SuperDachshund It's very simple. I don't think everything that is dangerous should be banned. But, yes my original statement was facetious in the sense that I don't actually own a gun.

I think I'm starting to understand - Americans need guns to protect themselves from one another because there are so many violent and crazy people THERE, so I can see the justification for feeling unsafe to go out the front door.

Jesus, you have no idea how ridiculous this video sounds to someone living outside of America. France, Spain, Germany, England, Ireland and Scotland. All countries where guns are illegal and gun crime is consequently tiny. As for keeping a gun to keep you safe, if I was living in America and I wanted to mug you I wouldn't wave a toothbrush and you would have to be one hell of a quick draw to get me first when my gun is already pointed. Raise your arm or pull a trigger, which is fastest.
Wow, YOU missed the point. People who carry guns don't think they'll save them from every f'n crime out there. But they know they can prevent and save them from LOTS of other potential crimes. Obviously if someone has a gun to your head, there's not much you can do if you're not Ken Shamrock. As for your countries with low gun crimes, good for you. But guns help prevent us from being victims of ALL crimes. Not just gun crimes. Do I really want my ass to be beaten/raped/robbed with ANY weapon?

first off, VNV are awesome.
Secondly its this idea that if you're carrying a gun and you get in a situation like that you can pull it out and resolve the whole issue. Now, there is only one occasion I know of where that held true.
That said if guns were illegal gun crime would go down. I would argue more of the situations you describe could be prevented if guns were outlawed then by civilians carrying guns on their person
i cant understand you. The person who is mugging you probably got their firearm illegally anyway, whereas the gun that is on my hip would be legal, therefore a law that outlawed guns would take my gun away, but not the crimminal's.
But the day a child walks into his school with a gun from home and accidently kills a friend of his, and when a man who is not a criminal gets angry at the world one day, and brings an automatic rifle into a highschool and guns down dozens. You will complain. You do not have to be a criminal who illegally obtained a gun to cause harm. You say, punish those who carry guns, by shooting them back. That hypocritical behavior will enforce shooting people.
It already is illegal for children to use those guns unsupervised, and it's illegal to leave firearms within reach of children. People who own firearms legally care about how the public views firearms, they went through a lot of trouble to obtain that firearm LEGALLY. Why would they do something like that which hurts others who want to defend themselves/enjoy firearms(such as shooting up a high school)? I wont complain that accomplishes nothing, I will wonder what mental problem he had.
After wondering about the shooter's mental health, I will observe what finally stopped the rampage: another firearm, used most likely by the authorities, a good while after the crime has been committed. Then I'll think of how much faster that rampage would have ended if there was a RESPONSiBLE CCW permit holder in the school. I don't say that those who carry should be punished, I say those who carry ILLEGALLY and IRRESPONSIBLY should be punished.
As for punishment by shooting back... what choice is there? If noone shot back then any violent, or crazed person with an illegally obtained weapon could walk through a mall killing all they see. How will responsible citizens protecting themselves, and innocents, enforce shooting innocents? It will scare those who attack into NOT attacking, because they notice that those who do attack, end up dead from those who are responsible protectors of the public.
No, you do not NEED to be a criminal with an illegally obtained weapon, but only crimminals with illegally obtained weapons DO crimes. Look at the statistics, crimes committed are committed by illegal firearms the vast majority of the time. Be practical, you can make a law that outlaws ALL firearms, and only criminals would have them... in other words your law does nothing. Or you can allow law abiding citizens to protect themselves.
Ironically a law designed to disarm the Australian people resulted in the creation of what can only be described as the Australian Underground Army. Whilst a lot of guns were handed, many more were not. The government of the day were in error when they introduced the law before have a pre-licensing phase and comprehensive audit to determine what was out there, how many, and who had them. In addition to the weapons pre 79 are the W11 surplus weapons .. Lawrence LYons (infowarsnetau vid clip)
i got this same thang in an email, not tha vid but tha lil speech deal,my dad says tha end part all tha time,I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE AND TOO OLD TO TAKE AN ASSWHOOPIN!lol it makes me laugh everytime!!!
It's almost a cliche, but it is common sense and the truth. If they take away guns, they'd mostly only get those of law abiding good citizens, leaving many of the criminals armed. Do they really think murderers, rapists and other violent criminals are going to turn their guns in?
Whatever. Guns greatly escalate the level of violence, accidents and suicides and are usually stolen by the perpetrator and used against the victim. Cooperation is almost always the right way to deal with a threat. The focus on crime also distracts us from the real problems that degrade our lives on a daily basis: poor diet, no exercise, crappy jobs and relationships, business and political corruption, wars, tobacco, cars, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, etc.
Most of gun related violence takes place in gun free zones bc the criminals have nothing to fear.
A gun will more than likely stop violence if the user knows how to use it and sometimes simply showing a gun can stop a crime. This has been proven time and time again weather or not you want or are willing to acknowledge it.
It's common sense. Your 42 you should know better. I agree with the second part though and would like to add medical malpractice, drugs, family abuse, disease, and plagues.
I live in belgium. Here it almost impossible to get a gun when you don't really need it.
It has been months since the last time someone got shot down in belgium. The biggest threat on the streets are knifes, which are evadable if you just run away. With a gun they just shoot you down in the back if they feel like it.
When was it safer? before anyone had nukes or during the cold war when everybody had nukes. Rough comparison but it is the same thing
I'd choose freedom over safety any day my friend. Its usually fear and ignorance like this that cause governmental restrictions of your liberties. It may seem fine right now living in your safe bubble, but when the bubble gradually turns into a cage, you wont be able to do anything about it.
@888zzz Here is where you are wrong. "Guns" don't do anything. Nothing, zip, zero, zilch, nada, butkis! Guns are inanimate objects that cannot move by themselves. So whenever you are getting ready to complain about guns, just stop and think for a second and replace "guns" with "people". Maybe then you will see the light.
You're nieve friend.I won't bad mouth you because you have a right to your opinion.Still, that being said you haven't lost a daughter by another's hand, a niece abducted and beated to death beyond recognition with a boat oar, you haven't been pistol whipped because someone thought you had something they wanted, nor have you ever had to take care of a brutalized victim and see the pain and embarrassment for not being able to the prevent, or fight off a thug.I will not be a victim again.
Couldn't agree more. i don't carry a gun but i do have many guns and if some comes into my house with a weapon you can bet your ass they won't be leaving in the same condition that they came in.
i love this video lmfao!!!!!!!

It's almost a cliche, but it is common sense and the truth. If they take away guns, they'd mostly only get those of law abiding good citizens, leaving many of the criminals armed. Do they really think murderers, rapists and other violent criminals are going to turn their guns in?

Excellent video, dude. Very good points!

@888zzz Right. When Aus. Banned guns, Citizens handed there guns in, while criminals keep them. Armed theif > Unarmed Theif. Get it right.
