To 18wheeler---I live on the east coast, the coast of Georgia to be exact. The Spanish were here as early as 1540 and the English around the 1730's..I use a Garrett....But there are many good ones out there..what ever you do get..the secret is to USE it!

I have been at this hobby since 1980..I bought my first Garrett then...So even though I have a lot of oldies, it has taken a while to find them. Thanks for posting.
Nice collection you have found.....Seems like the soil is kinder to the coins then the soil here in New Hampshire

Yes...The Spanish and the English settled and explored this area on the coast. These are not that uncommon here.
