I wish they would've picked up a beat somewhere, it was so linear. Shafqat's voice was the only impact in this song. Melody was brilliant. I kept wondering when the drummer will kick in. Loud guitar would have also worked. The piano was great. Can't avoid saying great music because this kind of original music is so rare now a days. Great work. I think we should highlight the commonality rather than the differences. Same people same language and culture, If I appreciate Hemant Kumar -the greatest voice ever- I appreciate this man too, this is phenomenal. My family is from Pakistan but I know that we are all bound together in the Great Indian subcontinent. This is our culture this is our heritage.

the ragas are usually "north indian," not carnatic. additionally, i think what people mean is that Pakistani classical music has manifested itself a little differently, even if it is based on the same raags. Qawallis are a good example of the same raags being used very differently. Thus, Pakistan does have unique music, even if it shares influences (all music does).
