It's neither, they wouldn't waste their time doing a bit part in an advert like this. The registered trademark "slinky" is the star of this commercial, strange they would use a RegTM to sell something else.
The Prescott shot was right before the Flagstaff Cafe scene, the kids playing hopscotch, on trikes, and running. It was shot in the morning, then the crew drove to Flag for the afternoon shoot.

I have been tring to hunt this song down for an hour now. Unfortunetly, I am 99.9 percent sure that it isn't a real song,... :{ sorry to everyone who feels my pain
This song might be Danny Dunlap, but it sounds like The Shore. Check out this band if you aren't familiar with them. Fantastic band from Southern Cal.
@the2000man I think he , and possibly the company he did it for would have the full song, if there is even a full one. I told him to put it on itunes.. I will keep everyone posted when he responds..
Um....well...uh I just got off the phone with CENTURYLINK and the very nice lady told me that it was a Mr. Danny Dunlap at Beacon Street Studios who did the song. I went to Tea For Julie's MySpace website and listened to all ten of their songs and not one of them was that song although they sound quite similar! As for tracking down the song....it's what I do.
Yes the little girl is in front of the Monte Vista Hotel/Rendezvous Bar on San Francisco in Flag! The camera crew was set up right outside Late for the Train. Took them many hours and many dozens of takes to get the truck perfect as it drove by "cafe". 8 extras plus girl and mom were staged for the scene. Amazing what it takes to make a few seconds of film! I thought it came out great.
After watching this commercial a couple of times...I noticed that the town at 0:14 looked eerily similar to the downtown of where I live, Flagstaff AZ. I youtubed it to see...and I was right! Now I'm sitting right acorss the street from that building in a coffee shop and looking at where it was shot. neat!
Damn when i heard the song i was like wow i wanna hear that song so i have been doing nothing for 1 hour this sucks i wish i could find it the only songs i found were just plan stupid >.<
LOL I grew up in STL. The company that shot this video pegged the campaign as (at least for our shoots in Flag and Prescott) a large company with a small town feel. I think it came out great and love the song. Probably will play for over a year! ;)
@jeweldivagirl The song is probably by a Production Music group. You'd probably have to contact CenturyLink or Monigle Associates, who produced the commercial, but I doubt it's available for purchase.
Both of these are extended versions of the commercial; still no song title --

This song:
When I first heard the opening guitar, I knew I had heard it before. It appears at 35:35 of a video (Search: "Fermats last theorem complete").
It is an extended opening, but it is the same music. I'm curious about the connection.
BTW - that documentary is mandatory viewing.

If it is just a backing track for a commercial, the writer should expand it - it's good. I was hooked from the opening guitar.
