  • UCI rule limits the bike weight to 14.96lbs. Most of these modern bikes can be much lighter than that, but they have to stay at that minimum weight limit and often have to add weight (ie lead inside the seatpost) to their bikes to do so. Having said that I would say these pro bikes are between 15-16lbs

  • nice video, one question. What's the average weight of these road bicycles used in these tournaments? 14 lbs ? 17 lbs ? maybe less than 14 lbs ?. Answer please

  • There are USABLE road bikes with gears in the sub 8 lb range. This is an obsession called weightweenie-ism. The weight limit of the UCI has even created some interesting problems to get UP to minimum weight by doing things such as putting heavier components on or putting chains down the seattube!!! You can buy the bikes the pros ride or ones very similar and by changing wheels (tubes, tires, etc), seat, seatpost, handlebars, crank, and or stem, 12 lb bikes are prevalent
