I went to see them on Monday in Birmingham, UK. Mark Tremonti was shredding it so hard, he was awsome, I dont think I've seen solos that good since I last saw ACDC's Angus Young, last year.
On Monday, during a short break, Myles Kenedy was talking to the crowd, when some bloke shouted out,
"I Love You"
"Damn, its always a special moment when a dude shouts out 'I love you'", replies Myles,"I never know how to take it"
Someone else in the crowd shouts, "From behind, with a reach around"
Myles Kennedy is awesome! That dude has an incredible range and the best sound of anyone out there today. Simply the best. Alter Bridge is far far better that Creed ever though of being. Scott Stapp sucks.
I caught them live in Boise at The Big Easy with Another Animal, which, ironically, is Godsmack with a Ugly Kid Joe's former singer as the frontman. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. I wish I'd seen an acoustic set like this one. Amazing talent!
I watch myles singing and think that probably i'll never hit these notes.... he's the best singer in the world IMHO. that "make" in the chorus is a fuckin' C#4!!!!

Yea,.. thats true. Myles is a rare singer to see live, because what you hear him do on recordings, he can match almost evertime in live shows. He is probably the only singer I've seen that doesn't choke or give up on the difficult parts because he's been playing a lot or his voice is tired. Very good performer.
i saw shinedown with nickelback, breaking benjamin and sick puppies last year and they fuckin rocked! Brent is Great! but he doesn't dare go where myles does! hitting every single high notes that we hear on original recordings! brent can't pull it off live ! just try finding 1 version of shinedown's i dare you , with Brent hitting the high notes at least once !!! you WONT! Still a great singer though! but just a tad under Myles!

Half right. You read that blog wrong. There IS a Creed reunion TOUR and a Creed CD going on this year...however, there will still be AB and the dvd & new cd from them, as well. Creed is supposedly only a temporary reunion. AB is still priority.

Creed is doing a summer reunion tour and releasing a new album sometimes this fall. on that reunion tour the new Alter Bridge DVD will be released and sold. After all is said and done, Alter Bridge will continue, with an album due out sometime next year. It's already at least half finished.

yes they are at the top of the food chain in rock music today. as a guitarist, tremonti is a huge influence on my style of playing. i have a wide range of influences, but theres just something magical about mark's playing. hes one of those guys that never writes a boring song like dimebag or randy rhoads was.
it's a crime their last album only sold 260K and all the shitty pop and rap acts sell tons. killer songwriting and tremontis guitar tone is about the best you will hear on a recording. sounds like creed is reforming so this will be it for them i guess.
agreed...just a fantastic album that no one knows about. when i saw blackbird didn't sell well i knew that was bad news for the band being able to continue. if myles lands the zeppelin gig that will be pretty amazing. hopefully stapp cleaned up his act...weathered has some killer songs on it so they still must have some great music in them.
NO! Mark was just interviewed at NAMM and asked about that. he said it was just a rumor. anything that happens will be in the best interest of Alter Bridge. Mark and Stapp haven't spoken in 5yrs.
that rumor was going around while Myles was rumored as the favorite to front Jimmy Page's project (not to be called LZ if it happened). that has since been completely squashed by Page's manager. Myles was also interviewed at NAMM and said himself that he was grateful for the opportunity to audition, but it's not happening.
ABIII is definitely in the works for this year. AB just put up a bulletin on their myspace yesterday saying that sometime next week Myles will be meeting up with Mark (after checking out the progress of the live dvd early in the week) to write for the album. about a week and a half later (like mid-Feb) they'll be doing a few acoustic shows in TX, then back to FL to finish working on the album. so yes, a third Alter Bridge album is definitely happening.
I for one am so very glad it's not happening. I was not a happy girl when I heard this might happen. I love Alter Bridge. And I thorougly love listening and watching Myles sing and play guitar to these songs. I was very bummed at the thought of losing that. So I am estatic that its not true! :D
Sounds like Creed is reforming? Not a chance while Alter Bridge is still around. Myles isn't joining Zep, Mark is commited to Alter Bridge and is very happy to be in the band. They are in the process of making a new album right now, will be released sometime in 2010 I imagine so theres no chance of Creed making a reunion for a long time at the very least, if ever. Long live Alter Bridge I say, the guys have freedom that they never had in Creed.
that's good news...i prefer alter bridge to creed any day. myles might have the best rock voice of the last 10 years or so and tremonti is a tremendous songwriter. they can only slog along for so long though with low album sales and playing small venues. A big payday with creed might be inticing for them...or maybe no one would care if creed reformed? the vh reunion was certainly a disappointment (rightly so) and they were one of the biggest bands in history.

Alter Bridge for life....any song these guys put out is golden in my eyes...1000% better than Creed was or could have been. Most likely my opinion but if Mark says the same then I must be right haha

yeah but obviously he plays the guitar too so it thickens up the sound on two different levels. Which is why everything creed made sounds like dookie on a stick compared to this.

these guys are one of the greatest bands ever. like you all said its a shame this album hasnt sold well. its probably the best cd i own and i listen to it more than any i have. and i have a pretty good collection. these guys are downright fucking amazing musicians. theyre just so straight from the heart.

yes they are at the top of the food chain in rock music today. as a guitarist, tremonti is a huge influence on my style of playing. i have a wide range of influences, but theres just something magical about mark's playing. hes one of those guys that never writes a boring song like dimebag or randy rhoads was.

it's a crime their last album only sold 260K and all the shitty pop and rap acts sell tons. killer songwriting and tremontis guitar tone is about the best you will hear on a recording. sounds like creed is reforming so this will be it for them i guess.

agreed...just a fantastic album that no one knows about. when i saw blackbird didn't sell well i knew that was bad news for the band being able to continue. if myles lands the zeppelin gig that will be pretty amazing. hopefully stapp cleaned up his act...weathered has some killer songs on it so they still must have some great music in them.

NO! Mark was just interviewed at NAMM and asked about that. he said it was just a rumor. anything that happens will be in the best interest of Alter Bridge. Mark and Stapp haven't spoken in 5yrs.

that rumor was going around while Myles was rumored as the favorite to front Jimmy Page's project (not to be called LZ if it happened). that has since been completely squashed by Page's manager. Myles was also interviewed at NAMM and said himself that he was grateful for the opportunity to audition, but it's not happening.

ABIII is definitely in the works for this year. AB just put up a bulletin on their myspace yesterday saying that sometime next week Myles will be meeting up with Mark (after checking out the progress of the live dvd early in the week) to write for the album. about a week and a half later (like mid-Feb) they'll be doing a few acoustic shows in TX, then back to FL to finish working on the album. so yes, a third Alter Bridge album is definitely happening.

I for one am so very glad it's not happening. I was not a happy girl when I heard this might happen. I love Alter Bridge. And I thorougly love listening and watching Myles sing and play guitar to these songs. I was very bummed at the thought of losing that. So I am estatic that its not true! :D

Sounds like Creed is reforming? Not a chance while Alter Bridge is still around. Myles isn't joining Zep, Mark is commited to Alter Bridge and is very happy to be in the band. They are in the process of making a new album right now, will be released sometime in 2010 I imagine so theres no chance of Creed making a reunion for a long time at the very least, if ever. Long live Alter Bridge I say, the guys have freedom that they never had in Creed.

that's good news...i prefer alter bridge to creed any day. myles might have the best rock voice of the last 10 years or so and tremonti is a tremendous songwriter. they can only slog along for so long though with low album sales and playing small venues. A big payday with creed might be inticing for them...or maybe no one would care if creed reformed? the vh reunion was certainly a disappointment (rightly so) and they were one of the biggest bands in history.
