@NationOfMasturbation, it would take more than that. I don't think anyone could stop the Williams FW18 in 1996. With a car designed for Schumacher and the best Benneton mechanics leaving for Ferrari, Alesi was doomed before he even stepped foot in the Benneton garage.

It did not help that a flawed rear suspension design forced Benneton to go back to the drawing board. In this race, and several other races, the rear suspension broke in the race.

@NationOfMasturbation I was an Alesi fan but Schumacher had won a 3rd title in that exact same car. Alesi was fast but couldn't get a car fixed to suit him.

One year later, the screwed this circuit, by destroying the entry of the swimming pool, the most difficult virage of the circuit and the most difficult ever. Senna gained 0.5/0.6on Prost, on the swimming pool only !!!
