These days all the great 5/8ths have very good defense Carter, Wilkinson, Steyn even Giteau's defense is decent and he's a little guy. A stand off with a weak defense is a direct target for the opposition to run at which is what has been happening with O'Gara for the last while now, teams are now all too aware of his inability to tackle. In fact it was O'Gara's defense the lost the second Lions test when he was run over by Fourie
@Menla1 is kicking is better too, he has a greater range. also defence is a huge part of the game if you dont concede trys you will be very hard to beat. so i dont think what you said is necessarily true.
